Dress Rehearsal Photography

Barry Parsons Photography is equipped with the right equipment for shooting in low light levels in typically found in theatre stage lighting. And we don't need to use a flashgun. I shoot with three different cameras with up to six different lens to give you a variety of panoramic and close up images with minimal disturbance to the actors trying to concentrate on their perfomance prior to opening night.

White Balance Colour Correction

Typically, stage lighting uses tungsten filaments which has an orange glow. This is why images taken of the stage turn out with a nasty orange colour cast. Using Lightroom and Photoshop we can correct this colour cast to give your images a more realistic appearance.

Sharper Images

Also, when we shoot, we try to use higher shutter speeds. This is because actors tend to move about and cause motion blur. This is a pet hate of mine. If it is not possible to shoot at the higher shutter speeds, I shoot to capture the actors momentarily between movements to reduce motion blur.

Publicity and Press Photos

We have also provided publicity shoots for the Maddermarket Theatre and for Great Hall Theatre Company. We can help you with ideas and forward images to the press for you very own productions.
