Commission Meeting Minutes

Plan Commission Members Present: Susan Jacobson, Bob Sanger, John Nyara, Mike Bark and Jayson Nohl

Absent Members: John Ganske and Lynn Divine

Public Present: Jim Kreinbring, Dave Kreinbring, Caren Kreinbring, Marsha Sorensen and Theresa Margetta

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairperson Susan Jacobson after determining a quorum was present.

Verification of Posting: Jayson Nohl verified the meeting notices were posted at Lake Shore Drive, Bono Creek Road, Barksdale Town Hall and the Towns Website. 

Reading and Approval of meeting minutes from:  June 9, 2025 John Nyara motioned to dispense with reading and approve them as written. Mike Bark second the motion, all were in favor, motion passed.

Discussion and Possible Action on a Conditional Use Permit:  from Todd’s Redi Mix LLC 71255 State Hwy 13 Ashland, Wi 54806 is asking for an After the Fact conditional use permit for placement and use of (4) intermodal containers (Connex Boxes) on parcel 332 and 333 to support concrete product operations on parcel 332. The boxes would contain the chemicals that are used to produce concrete, the boxes are enclosed to keep the contents out of the weather elements. After a lot of questions from the plan commission members and members of the public the plan commission compared the CDU permit request to the 10 elements of the Towns comprehensive plan and finding no conflicts. Bob Sanger motioned to recommend to the Town Board to approve the permit request John Nyara second the motion. Mike Bark asked if he could make a statement before he votes, Susan Jacobson agreed to hear Mike. (Mike) we as a group need to respond to the concerns of the residents who live in close proximity of the concrete plant. They meaning the concrete plant must do their part to be accountable to regulations and respect and protect the environment. A vote was taken and all were in favor, motion passed.

Bono Creek Road Update: There will be new signage installed in the near future, Angle Parking with boat trailers and Angle Parking for just vehicles. There will also be two signs put up along the boat ramp one will be No Kayaks left on the ramp and the other will be No Kayaks and Canoes left on dock.

Town Picnic: will be held on September 6, 2025 from 12:00 until 3:00pm. Brats, hot dogs, chips, soda and water will be provided. Anyone who would like to bring a dish is encouraged to do so. Post cards reminders of the picnic will be sent out.

The next scheduled quarterly meeting is scheduled for September 8, 2025 at 6:00pm.  at the Barksdale Town Hall.

Adjournment:  Mike Bark motioned to adjourn the meeting Bob Sanger second the motion all were in favor. The meeting adjourned at 7:30pm
