Call To Order:
Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by John Nyara, Chairman. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Verification of Posting and Publishing:
J. Nyara confirmed the Agenda was posted and published.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes:
C. Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the May 12th, 2025 Meeting Minutes, seconded by J. Nohl. Motion carried. Copies of the minutes were provided at the meeting for attendees.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan update:
Quarterly meeting was yesterday June 9th @ 6pm. Meeting included permit for Quinn Rhoda new build on Lakeshore Drive. Approved the permit as it complied with the Plan. Next quarterly meeting scheduled for September 8th @ 6pm.
Cozy Corner Road update:
No updates on any crews finishing work from last year’s new section.
Ondossagon Road update and possible action:
J. Nyara stated nothing new at this time; still in arbitration. No new updates as of yet.
Ondossagon School Update:
Resolution was turned over to the County by J. Nyara last month, no other updates.
Bono Creek Update:
J. Nyara stated paving is complete and everything else graveled. More signage is needed, Dave will take care of it. Also, more discussions with DOT about removing the guardrail to provide an entrance/launching area for swimmers and kayaks.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public input:
Thank you! Said by Sarah Gjertson, for the continued support for her Wedal Woods pod project.
Bono Creek Boat landing, asked by Guy Folsom and Mike Bark, asked about ordinances and signage. Talked about separate walkway for kayaks. Sidewalks discussed.
Cozy Corner Road: New construction:
Tabled Bid for pavement extension past Mashlan Road, bid totaling $102, 596.21. C. Bretting made a motion to proceed with acceptance of the bid, seconded by J. Nohl. Motion carried. Dave will deliver signed bid to Northwoods paving.
Lutkie Road – Culvert:
Dale Johnston claims he will be able to start and complete project on the week of June 23rd. All the sand will be delivered and stock-piled for use.
Discussion and possible Action - quote from SealTech, Inc for Lutkie Rd-(Lindahl Rd to West end):
Filling the cracks, quote in amount of $10,335. Poly flex cracks – tar & pea gravel $5,687. Total Bid is $16,022. J. Nohl made a motion to approve, seconded by C. Bretting. Motion approved. J. Nohl will deliver signed bid to Seal Tech.
Discussion and possible Action - Land Permit request from Quinn Rhoda-Lakeshore Dr grading:
Permit for Quinn Rhoda new build on Lakeshore Drive was approved by the Comprehensive Planning Commission as it complied with the Plan. Board now needs to vote. C. Bretting made a motion to approve, seconded by J. Nohl. Motion carried.
Decision and updates on HeadSpace HQ, LLC. Conditional Use Permit with added conditions:
The permit was approved with a couple of conditions: Quiet hours, vegetation screening needed and additional parking as required.
Discussion and possible Action regarding letter from David Wickstrom for skating rink:
A misunderstanding by Paul Beeksma in regards to expanding the skating area, as he removed the existing berm. Mr. Wickstrom wrote the Board a letter in disapproval, requesting the rink be reverted back to the original plan. This letter will be sent to Paul Beeksma to comply with wishes of the owner.
Discussion and possible action of billing Bay Area Sanitation:
In regards to paying Dave for future
Ordinance Regulating Transient Merchants discussion and possible action:
At this time, there is nothing we can do- ordinances/signage as to no-camping, no-overnight parking, no unattended vehicles discussed. Dock will not be put out yet /not deep enough right now.
Website Update and possible action:
No action or further updates as of yet.
Discussion and possible action of Attorney’s fees:
Applications for Operator’s and Liquor Licenses Topside and Sparkys -Legal Notices:
Northern State Bank will give us 3.5% for both accounts, and will have more discussions with CD rates. Sue will get the paperwork going – 2 to 3 month process. Government accounts will need to be changed. C. Bretting made a motion to approve, seconded by J. Nohl. Motion carried.

Chairman’s Report:
Scotty Sandstrom, will be opening bids for Engoe Rd. tomorrow night, he also discussed that they will also be stripping, and we may want to get a bit of stripping done while they are out. Cozy Corner Rd. - need fog line and center line.
Treasurer’s Report:
S. Sanders gave an overview of the town’s finances. Currently, $355,455.24 in checking & savings combined. July -2nd half tax money and transportation aid will be coming in. Both loans were combined after the LRIP grant came in. Balance due is $901, 935.14. First payment due October 1st – semi annual payments of $80,000.00 each. Hopefully we will be able to pay it off in 7 years.
S. Sanders called on Firetruck payments- $615,000.00 was our portion, interest (5%) is at $311,125.42. Final payment in 2044. No grants were sought after. Federal and State grants are still available. Our contract ends this year.
Clerk & Treasurer will be going to Lakewoods for WTA on May 21st, and quarterly Moquah WTA meeting on June 2nd at 7pm for all Board members.
Next Meeting(s):
The next Monthly Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, @ 7:00 pm.
September 8th, Comp Plan Meeting @ 6pm
Monthly Bills:
C. Bretting made a motion to accept and approve the monthly bills presented, seconded by J. Nohl. Motion carried.
Adjournment:
There being no further business meeting to conduct, J. Nohl made a motion and seconded by C. Bretting to adjourn the meeting at 8:41 pm.
