Town of Barksdale Board Meeting Minutes

Present: John Nyara, Chris Bretting, Jayson Nohl, Angela Truchon, Susan Sanders
Absent: None
Other’s Present: David Lucius
Members of the Public Present: See sign-in sheet
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 7:01 p.m.
Verification of Posting: Clerk Truchon confirmed the meeting notice was posted at the Town Hall, Bono Creek and Lakeshore Drive and the Town Website.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of the April 6, 2024 minutes and to approve them as written, seconded by Nohl; motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan update: Jayson reported that they had a permit from Todd’s ready mix and the comp plan voted 0-5 to recommend the board deny the permit.
Cozy Corner Road discussion and possible action: The Clearing had been completed for the project. NCI was subcontracted by A-1 Excavating and is moving along as planned.
Ondossagon Road: Nothing new
Ondossagon School: Reto’s are working with the county and C&S design for the School Project. The county is working on helping with getting grants.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public input:
• Fred asked @ Norvado fixing the areas that are still in need of repair. Jayson said he made a punchlist and they should be coming back and fixing the areas soon.
Permit Review for Mary Bretzman for Lakeshore area Drain Tile:
Bretting made a motion to approve the permit and John 2nd. Motion Carried.
Todd’s Ready Mix ATF Permit:
Jeff Johnson representative of Todd’s Ready Mix explained that they are not planning on crushing there anymore and want to use the area for storage of material and equipment only. There was a motion made by Jayson to deny the permit John made a motion to second. All board members voted "I." There were no "nays," motion to deny the permit carried.
Erika Lang with Landmark Conservancy:
Chris made a motion to adopt a resolution number 2024-02 regarding Landmark Conservancy’s project with the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program for the Joquet property on the 500 Road.
Road Foreman’s Report:
Dave reported that he was working on the Forest Roads in the Barons putting gravel on 237 and doing maintenance on the equipment.
Clerks Report:
Clerk reported that the Sam’s number has been updated, we received a thank you from helping paws.
Chairman’s Report:
Truckers were told they need to use Range Road instead of coming down Ondossagon Road.
Treasurer’s Report:
See attached Report. Went over information for the new NSB loan we will need for the Cozy Corner Road. WTA meeting will be June 3rd in Moquah.
Next Meeting: The next regular meeting date is June 11, 2024, at 7:00 pm
Approval of Bills: Bretting made a motion to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Nohl, Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business Bretting made a motion to adjourn Nohl seconded. Motion carried Meeting adjourned at 9:27p.m.
