Town of Barksdale Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, January 9, 2024

Present: John Nyara, Chris Bretting, Jayson Nohl, Angela Truchon, Susan Sanders
Absent: None
Other’s Present: David Lucius
Members of the Public Present: Al Kirschbaum, John McCue, Fred Brocher, Dennis Pocernich, Denise Bosak, Ruth Oppedahl
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 7:01 p.m.
Verification of Posting: Clerk Truchon confirmed the meeting notice was posted at the Town Hall, Bono Creek and Lakeshore Drive and the Town Website.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of the December 12, 2023 minutes and to approve them as written, seconded by Nohl. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan update: They are trying to get the revised comprehensive plan done bythe next quarterly meeting. The committee is trying to make it more simple.
Ondossagon Road-Discussion and possible action: John called Max and left a message. John mentioned getting all our information back and hiring a new attorney.
Cozy Corner Road discussion and possible action: Cooper Engineering has hired a company from Superior to acquire the land. They have offered $2110 per acre. There are three parcels 1st for $8600, 2nd for $4700 and the 3rd for $250.
Ondossagon School discussion and possible action: John had an email from a gentleman requesting the name of the owner of the school.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public input:
Denise Bosak asked about fixing the shoulder on Ondossagon Road.
Road Foreman’s Report:
Dave reported that he fixed the brakes on the 1 ton has been plowing and sanding roads.
Clerk’s Report: Angela reported on letters and other information received since last meeting.
Chairman’s Report: John said he talked to Lisa Reardon from the Forestry Department and needed new letter for land acquisition. Wants to hold the informational meeting for the zoning issues on February 20, 2024 at 6:00 pm.
Treasurer’s Report: See attached Report. The WTA meeting with be Monday January 22,2024. Sue will be at the Town Hall for Tax Payments this Saturday and Next.
Next Meeting: The next regular meeting date is February 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m..
Approval of Bills: Jayson Nohl made a motion to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Chris Bretting. Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business Chris Bretting made a motion to adjourn Jason Nohl seconded. Motion carried Meeting adjourned at 8:36 p.m.
