Town of Barksdale Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, February 13, 2024

Present: John Nyara, Chris Bretting, Jayson Nohl, Angela Truchon, Susan Sanders
Absent: None
Other’s Present: David Lucius
Members of the Public Present: Al Kirschbaum, John McCue, Fred Brocher, Bernice Carter, Kitty Wilson, Ruth Oppedahl
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 7:01 p.m.
Verification of Posting: Clerk Truchon confirmed the meeting notice was posted at the Town Hall, Bono Creek and Lakeshore Drive and the Town Website.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of the January 9, 2024 minutes and to approve them as written, seconded by Nohl. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan update: Jayson reported that they had 3 meetings in January to revise and go over the comp plan. The Plan is now a little simpler. The next meeting will be on March 11, 2024 at 6:00 pm
Ondossagon Road-Discussion and possible action: Attorney Carlson was contacted by Chris but Chris said that he was very busy. Need to have a meeting with Attorney Lindsey and get our information back.
Cozy Corner Road discussion and possible action: There is a meeting with the engineer and contractor for a pre-construction meeting on February 27, 2024 at 10:00 am. We are in the process of sending out the land acquisition checks .
NEW BUSINESS:
Public input:
• Kitty Wilson asked about putting up the speed limit sign on Wedal Road. Dave has the sign and will put it up.
• Ruth Oppedahl said that she had some concerns with getting out of Bayfield county zoning. She gave the board a bullet point report to look over.
• John McCue questioned were the stumps came from that we had to bury in the sand pit.
Road Foreman’s Report:
Dave reported that he has been in the sand pit cleaning it up. Dave put on the road bans. Cat will come look at the grader as it is having issues wanting to start.
Clerk’s Report: Clerk reported on letters and other information received since last meeting. Clerk will sign up Sue and Jayson for the district WTA meeting in Cable.
Chairman’s Report: John said that he talked to the county and they are going to do our bridge inspections.
Treasurer’s Report: See attached Report.
Next Meeting: The next regular meeting date is March 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m..
Approval of Bills: Chris Bretting made a motion to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Jayson Nohl, Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business Chris Bretting made a motion to adjourn Jayson Nohl seconded. Motion carried Meeting adjourned at 8:48 p.m.
