Absent: None
Other’s Present: David Lucius
Members of the Public Present: Theresa Margetta, Sue Jacobson, Guy Folsom, Dennis Pocernich, Fred Brocher, Dennis Pocernich
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 7:00 p.m.
Verification of Posting: Clerk Truchon confirmed the meeting notice was posted at the Town Hall, Lakeshore Drive, and the Town Website.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of the July 9, 2024 minutes and to approve them as written, seconded by Nohl. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan update: Booklets have been made and they will hold the public meeting September 10, 2024.
Cozy Corner Road discussion and possible action: They are moving along, and the gravel should be done this week. Paving is scheduled to be done in September.
Cozy Corner Road Funding: Sue said she feels comfortable paying the estimate #2 for $130,000.00 out of the general fund at this time. We still have income coming in Bretting made a motion to pay the bill out of the general fund and Nohl seconded. Motion Carried.
Ondossagon Road: Jayson talked to Max and has a teleconference tomorrow with the bonding company. Trying to get the bid bond of $1.7 million to fix the road.
Ondossagon School: Nothing new.
Snowplow: Keeping the same fees as last year. Last year we plowed 90 driveways and brought in @ $18,000. Letters will be sent out in September and due in October.
Town Picnic: Will be held September 7, 2024, from noon – 4 pm
Bono Creek: Board had a meeting today with the DOT, Bayfield County and NWP. If the DOT turns over the road to the town, then we will be able to make an ordinance. Michelle thought maybe we could get a grant from Enbridge to help with the costs. Dennis commented about doing other roads in the town that people live on as there are roads that need to be fixed, he feels before fixing the road to the boat landing. The amount to fix the road for the town’s portion would be approximately $25,000.00.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public input:
Guy Folsom thanked the board for serving. Chris asked Guy about cleaning up from the Norvado line installation. Guy said he will address what needs to be cleaned up.
Insurance:
Talked to our agent at Rural Mutual he has another commitment for tonight but is hoping to be able to come to the next meeting. The clerk talked to the new agent at American Family and will work with her to get a quote as well.
Road Foreman’s Report: Dave reported that they are mowing, grading and fixing roads. The tractor was leaking and needs to be fixed. The front loader tire needs to be fixed, the board approved Dave to go ahead and fix it. FR 237 has been fixed and the loggers are now using FR 245.
Clerks Report: Clerk reported she had nothing new.
Chairman’s Report: The Garage door and the overhead doors need to be replaced. The Board approved replacing the doors.
Treasurer’s Report: See attached report.
Next Meeting: The next regular meeting date is September 10, 2024 after the public hearings.
Approval of Bills: Nohl made a motion to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Bretting, Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business Nohl made a motion to adjourn Bretting seconded. Motion carried Meeting adjourned at 8:34 p.m.
