Town of Barksdale Board Annual Meeting Minutes

6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2023
Barksdale Town Hall
29025 East Ondossagon Rd., Ashland, WI  54806

Present:  John Nyara, Jayson Nohl, Chris Bretting, Angie Truchon, Susan Sanders, Faye Nyara, Dave Lucius, Bernice Carter

Absent:  None

Call To Order:  The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 6:30 p.m. 

Verification of Posting:  Truchon confirmed it was posted.

Approval of Previous Year's Annual Meeting Minutes:  Chris Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of minutes from the previous year annual meeting, Jayson Nohl seconded.  Motion Carried.

BUSINESS

Public input: There was no public input.

Chairman reported that the town put blacktop on Lakeshore Drive which was just under $25,000.  Did patching on gravel roads and purchased a new plow.

Finished up the skating rink warming shack which was built with the ARPA grant money received and the Bayfield County Health Grant of $5000.

The town received a grant of approximately $600,000.00 to fix the cozy corner road which will cost a total of approximately $1,200,000.00.  This should start in 2024.

Norvado has started putting in the Fiber Optic in Barksdale and should be finished by fall, if residents are interested they will need to sign up to have the wires run to the house for no cost.

Faye Nyara made a motion to approve the annual financials and Dave Lucius 2nd. There being no nay’s motion carried.

Chris Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of noxious weed law,  Jayson Nohl 2nd. There being no nay’s motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to conduct, Dave made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Chris Bretting seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
