Town of Barksdale Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, December 12, 2023

Present: John Nyara, Chris Bretting, Jayson Nohl, Angela Truchon, Susan Sanders
Absent: None
Other’s Present: David Lucius
Members of the Public Present: Al Kirschbaum, John McCue, Fred Brocher, Dennis Pocernich
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 7:02 p.m.
Verification of Posting: Clerk Truchon confirmed the meeting notice was posted at the Town Hall, Bono Creek and Lakeshore Drive and the Town Website.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Nohl made a motion to dispense with the reading of the November 14, 2023 minutes and to approve them as written, seconded by Nohl; motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan update: The 4th quarter meeting was held on December 11, 2023. They are working on the comp plan revisions. The county zoning is currently working on revising the procedures as a whole and should be done in 2024.
Ondossagon Road discussion and possible action: Nothing new
Cozy Corner Road discussion and possible action: Cooper Engineering is working on getting permissions from land owners. Board wants to meet with Aaron on how much the engineer is planning on being on project when it starts.
Ondossagon School discussion and possible action: Nothing new
NEW BUSINESS:
Public input:
The stop sign- right turn no stop is gone. Dave said it is ordered.
Resolution for Advisory Referendum:
Bretting made a motion to approve Resolution 2024-1. Nohl seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Road Foreman’s Report:
Dave reported that he is working on equipment and had generator repaired. He also cleaned out equipment and trucks and just waiting for it to snow.
Clerk’s Report: Clerk reported on letters and other information received since last meeting. We are getting an increase in our shared Revenue in 2024 and the Transportation Aids were finalized.
Chairman’s Report: John is working with Norvado to get the phone and internet switched over from Brightspeed.
Treasurer’s Report: Report attached. Treasurer talked about the letter for the RAISE grant and Bretting made a motion to right a letter of support to Bayfield County for the RAISE grant and Nohl seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
Next Meeting: The next regular meeting date is 7:00 p.m. January 9, 2024.
Approval of Bills: Jayson Nohl made a motion to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Chris Bretting. Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business Chris Bretting made a motion to adjourn. Jayson Nohl seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
