Town of Barksdale Board Meeting Minutes

Present: John Nyara; Chris Bretting; Jayson Nohl; Angela Truchon
Absent: Susan Sanders
Other’s Present: David Lucius
Members of the Public Present: None
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nyara at 7:04 p.m.
Verification of Posting: Truchon confirmed the meeting notice was posted.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with the reading of the September 13, 2022 minutes and to approve them as written, seconded by Nohl. Motion Carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Comprehensive Plan Update:
Jayson reported tat the Comprehensive Plan quarterly meeting will be held in December. He had nothing else to report. Clerk was asked to put a separate item on the agenda regarding zoning. One of the supervisors are going to contact the Towns Association regarding details on if and how the town could do their own zoning and get out of the county's zoning.
Grants Update:
ARPA Grant- Nothing new.
Skating Rink:
John is waiting for the window to finish the siding. Needs the electrical inspected. We will have the porta-potty moved from Bono Creek to the skating rink for the winter.
Ondossagon Road:
Nothing new.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public Input:
No public input.
Salt/Sand Bid:
Clerk mistakenly put Tuesday as the due date instead of the changed meeting date of Monday. No bids had come in but Chris Bretting made a motion to accept the salt/sand bid if only one bid comes in tomorrow and if more than one bid comes in we will call a special meeting to look at the bids. Jayson Nohl seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Road Foreman’s Report:
Dave reported everything is going good. He hauled 7 loads onto 431, 8 yards on 245 and 14 loads on 429. We received 26 loads from Olson Construction and we will submit the bill to the DNR to get reimbursement for the material. The grader and tractor were both fixed and new brakes were put on the loader. Everything else is good. He would like to get more gravel stockpiled and as the money is in the budget for this the Board OK'd this. He said that Bayfield Wireless has cleared out their area for the tower as well. He had nothing further to report.
Clerk’s Report:
Clerk received a donation letter for the County's CWD project and asked the Board if they would like to do this again this year. Jayson Nohl made a motion to donate $150 to the County and Chris Bretting seconded the motion. Motion carried. Clerk had no further business.
Chairman’s Report:
Chairman had nothing new to report.
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer’s report is attached.
Next Meeting:
The next regular meeting date is November 7 immediately following the budget hearing at the Barksdale Town Hall.
Approval of Bills:
Bretting made a motion to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Nohl. Motion carried.
Adjournment:
There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
