Town of Barksdale Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Dennis Pocernich, John Nyara, Lynn Divine; Susan Sanders

Members of the Public Present: Tom Sanders; Dennis & Mary Nechkash; Chad Abel

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine confirmed it was posted and that it was sent for publication.

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Nyara made a motion to dispense with reading the June 11, 2019, Minutes, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Comprehensive Plan Update: Nothing new to report.

Grant Updates: Nothing new to report.

NEW BUSINESS:

Public Input: Dennis Nechkash updated the Board on the cost of fixing his driveway. He has talked with Arne and received a quote of approximately $1,900. The Board told him to go ahead with the work and have the contractor bill the Town.

Chad Abel was present to discuss erosion from a culvert on Bjork Road that affects his land. The Board informed him that the culvert is going to be replaced with adjustments made to make the area more stable.

Request for Operators’ Licenses: Operator License Applications were received from Kelsey Sharp and Jennifer Lucius. Both applicants have completed the course for responsible bartending and paid the required $20.00. Nyara made a motion to approve the Operator Licenses for Kelsey Sharp and Jennifer Lucius, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Approval to Contract with NWRPC to Conduct the 2019 PASER Rating: Nyara made a motion to approve the contract with Northwest Regional Planning Commission for the required 2019 PASER rating, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Former Ondossagon School: Tabled.

Road Foreman Report: There is a culvert to put in on Clevette Road and on Lake Shore Drive. Lucius will contact Lupino Construction regarding a part of the Ondossagon Road that keeps breaking up at the intersection of Nolander Road. Grading and mowing continues to be done. Lucius will look into having a load of calcium chloride spread on various roads.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Received a request from someone to get a permit to sell fireworks. That would be a request for the County. Irene Anderson made a request to have dust control done by her home.

Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is attached.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on September 10th, at 7:00 p.m.

Monthly Bills: Pocernich made a motion to accept and approve the monthly bills as presented, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
