OLD BUSINESS

Comprehensive Plan Update: Divine reported that the Commission met last night to review a Class A Special Use Permit for John Smylie regarding restoration of eroding lake shore on his property. The Commission recommended approval for the permit.

Grant Updates: Nothing new to report.

NEW BUSINESS:

Public Input: Dick Sobtzak made a request to have a line item added to the budget for resurfacing Engoe Road. The Board assured him that it is on the list of roads to be worked on, however, it is a mutual road with the Town of Washburn and both municipalities will need to meet to come up with a plan and budget guidelines for the project.

Mike Mlynarek informed everyone that Bridget Olson will be in the area all of next week and encouraged them to contact her regarding any concerns or comments they may have. The hiring process for replacing Mike’s position is very slow at this time, as others in higher positions have also retired and those vacancies will probably be filled first.

Request for Class A Special Use Permit: A Class A Special Use Permit was received from John Smylie to have shoreline mitigation done on his property. Bretting made a motion to approve the Class A Special Use Permit for John Smylie for shoreline mitigation as outlined in the request, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Paving of Olson/Sannes Roads: A quote for paving Olson and Sannes Road by Northwoods Paving was received. After some discussion, it was agreed that the quote was very reasonable. Bretting made a motion to approve paving Olson and Sannes Roads per the quote received by Northwoods Paving, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Cracksealing: Roads that could use cracksealing include Summit to Lake Shore Drive, Chequamegon Heights and portions of Wedal and Wannebo. Bretting made a motion to have Lucius direct Scott Construction to provide cracksealing on various roads in the town up to an amount of $10,000, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Former Ondossagon School: Tabled.

Annual Picnic: The annual picnic will be held on Saturday, September 7th from Noon to 4:00 p.m.

Road Foreman’s Report: The crew continues to be busy with mowing, grading and patching. Things are going well. Blades have been ordered for snowplowing this winter.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Pocernich received a letter from the Deering family on Lake Shore Drive requesting that the Town convey a small part of its parcel directly in front of their property. They will be encouraged to come to a town meeting and explain exactly what they are requesting and for what purpose.

Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is attached.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on September 10th, at 7:00 p.m.

Monthly Bills: Bretting made a motion to accept and approve the monthly bills as presented, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Lynn M. Divine, Clerk
