Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.
Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine confirmed it was posted. Bretting verified that it was published.
Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the August 14, 2018, Minutes, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mike reminded everyone that his last day of employment, before retiring, is September 30th. He has given Dave Lucius a key to enter lands by the Kiosk for snowplowing and other necessary access. The gates will, otherwise, be locked. County deputies, the Forest Service and the County Board have all been sent a Letter of Memorandum. His supervisor, Bridget Olson, will be coming to the area a couple of times before he is officially done. Mike thanked everyone for the nice Town Picnic.
Comprehensive Plan Update: Jacobson reported that a Permit Request from Jean Krizan was received for erosion control on her property. The Commission voted to recommend approval to the Town Board for the permit request. She indicated that it was Bob Sanger’s first meeting as a member of the Commission.
Grant Updates: Joan Whitman was present. She discussed some of the possibilities regarding procuring a grant for a sand/salt shed. She will continue to pursue possible grants.
Snowplowing Update: Sanders indicated the contracts will be sent out on September 15th and will be due on October 15th.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public Input: Dennis and Nechkash were present to inquire about their driveway access following the Ondossagon Road project. After some discussion, it was decided that Bretting and Nyara will stop by their residence and go over the situation with them.
Permit Request: A Class A permit request was received by Jean Krizan on Sannes Road. The request is regarding lake shore erosion repair and control. After reviewing the request, Bretting made a motion to approve the Class A Permit Request for Jean Krizan as presented, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.
Purchase of Sweeper: After receiving quotes from Caterpillar in the amount of $17,500 and Lulich Implement in the amount of $7,000, a new sweeper was purchased from Lulich Implement.
TRID Grant Update: Sanders submitted the original data to the Bayfield County Highway Department last week. Today, Divine received a request for more information from Paul Johanik. She is submitting the requested data to the Dept. of Transportation this week.
Annual Picnic: The picnic was a success as in the past. Many compliments were received.
Road Foreman Report: Dave and Tom are busy grading and mowing. The forest service provided more rock for the forest roads. Getting ready for winter.
Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.
Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report.
Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is attached.
Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on October 9th, at 7:00 p.m.
Monthly Bills: Bretting made a motion to accept and approve the monthly bills as presented, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.
Adjournment: There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
