Other’s Present: David Lucius; Paul Lupino, Lupino Construction; Jim Solberg, MSA; Susan Jacobson, Comprehensive Plan Commission

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine indicated that it was posted. Pocernich verified that it was published.

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Nyara made a motion to dispense with reading the August 8, 2017, Minutes, seconded by Bretting. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mike Mlynarek was not present at the meeting. A copy of his update is attached.

Comprehensive Plan Update: Jacobson indicated that things have been quiet. The commission plans to meet again in October.

Grant Updates: Nothing new to report. Joan Whitman was present and will pursue looking into monies available for obtaining a salt shed.

NEW BUSINESS:

Public Input: None.

Ondossagon Road Project: Paul Lupino and Jim Solberg from MSA were present to discuss the progress and future for the road project. It was mutually agreed that paving will not be done until spring of 2018 to let the road settle. A list of alterations to the contract is being prepared and all parties will review and sign a new Change Order.

Salt/Sand Needs: It was agreed to advertise for the same amount of salt/sand as last year. Divine will place an ad in the Daily Press. Bids will be due at the October monthly meeting.

Server Application Request: An Operator’s (Server) Permit Application was received by Lauren Chantelois. Bretting made a motion to approve the Operator’s Permit for Lauren Chantelois, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Xcel Second Circuit Transmission Line: Xcel Engery is in the process of requesting a secondary high-powered transmission line over a 7.5 mile area in Bayfield County. A group of concerned citizens would like more information on this before it is allowed to go through. A portion of the line goes through the Town and Ron Nemec was requested to have the Town Board not support this line until more information can be provided to the public. Bretting made a motion not to take a position on this item until more data can be obtained for the Board to make a well-informed decision on the matter, seconded Nyara. Motion carried.

Existing Equipment Loan: This item has been tabled until the December meeting.

Recap on Annual Picnic: The turnout for the picnic was consistent with prior years. It was another success.

Road Foreman’s Report: Continue to work on roads and do end of the year final mowing. Equipment is working good. A liner was placed in a culvert on Engoe Road.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is attached.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on October 10, 2017.

Payment of Bills: Pocernich made a motion to accept and pay the monthly bills as presented, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
