Town of Barksdale Board Meeting

Present: Dennis Pocernich, John Nyara; Chris Bretting; Lynn Divine; Susan Sanders

Absent: None.

Other’s Present: David Lucius, Mike Mlynarek, US Fish & Wildlife; Susan Jacobson and Jayson Nohl, Comprehensive Plan Commission

Members of the Public Present: Dave Maki; Tom Sanders

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine indicated that it was posted, Pocernich verified that it was published in the Ashland Daily Press

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the February 14, 2017, Minutes, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mike Mlynarek stated that the 2017 Youth Crew Announcement was made two weeks ago. The closing date will be in four weeks of the 17th.

Mlynarek met with Travis Tulowitzky regarding the bank work by Paul Beeksma’s property. He indicated that David Wickstrom is on board with the project. Mike has been in contact with Paul Beeksma, but to-date, he has not been able to discuss the project with him. He asked if someone from the Board would be willing to discuss the project with him.

Comprehensive Plan Update: Nothing new to report. The Commission held their quarterly meeting. They continue to review the plan for editing purposes.

Grant Updates: Joan Whitman looked into a possible federal grant, but it will not be a beneficial grant for the town.

NEW BUSINESS:

Public Input: Jacobson complimented Sue Sanders on the hall upkeep and the newly waxed floor.

Appointment of Town Supervisor to Scenic Byway Committee: Divine provided a list she received from a member of the committee regarding supervisor appointments to the group. Barksdale is scheduled to have appointments in October of even numbered years. Pocernich appointment Chris Bretting as the Town Supervisor to the Scenic Byway Committee, with John Nyara serving as the alternate.

Bono Creek Boat Ramp: Tabled

Ondossagon Road Project: There will be an informal informational meeting held on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. Divine posted a box ad in the paper and will send post cards to the property owners living on Ondossagon Road.

Road Crew Report: Things are going well.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Treasurer’s Report: Sanders provided the monthly report. A copy is attached to these Minutes.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. The Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., per statutory requirements.

Expenditures: The expenditures were reviewed and checks approved and signed. Nyara made a motion to accept the expenditures as presented, seconded by Bretting. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
