Present: Dennis Pocernich, John Nyara, Chris Bretting; Lynn Divine; Susan Sanders

Absent: None.

Other’s Present: David Lucius; Susan Jacobson, Comprehensive Plan Commission

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine indicated that it was posted. Was requested to be published.

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the November 14, 2017, Minutes, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mlynarek indicated that there is nothing new to discuss. The agency is still working on a temporary budget. A major project they are working on is at a dam site along the Iron River in the Town of Oulu.

Comprehensive Plan Update: Jacobson reported that the commission held its final quarterly meeting for 2017 on Monday, December 11th. The commission continues to fine-tune the comprehensive plan and work on topics such as the CAFO and homeless shelter topics that have arisen during the past year or so. She also requested that a plat book be given to the group. Divine will provide the commission with one.

Grant Updates: Nothing new to report.

Snowplowing: Two more contracts have been added to the list. There are a total of 83 driveways to be plowed at this time.

NEW BUSINESS:

Public Input: Lynne Krueger and Dennis Weible were present to discuss the proposed transmission line for Xcel Energy. The purpose of the discussion was to invite people to be a part of a group of concerned citizens who would like to see that the best possible plan is used to put in the line.

Ondossagon Road Project: Nothing new to report.

Ordinance 2017-01: A Resolution to Amend the Town of Barksdale Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map was presented. The amendment is to change the town garage parcel from agricultural to municipal use. Bretting made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2017-01, which supports Resolution 09-2017 for an amendment to the Town of Barksdale Future Land Use Map, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Ordinance 2017-02: An ordinance to Exempt the Treasurer from obtaining an annual bond was presented. The ordinance will put the responsibility of state and county taxes upon the Town Board versus the Treasurer. Upon review of the ordinance, Pocernich made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2017-02, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Appointment of 2018/2019 Election Workers: Pocernich appointed the following electors as election workers for the 2018/2019 election term: Jayson Nohl, Larry Chase, Betty Chambers, Charlene Swanson, Susan Jacobson, John Nyara, Mollie Grinnell, Beth Palma, Patricia Stromberg, Georgia Hogg, Tammie Bretting and Colleen Bark.

Road Foreman Report: Lucius indicated that the equipment is working well. The majority of road work has been scraping, some plowing and sanding.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report

Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is attached.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.

Monthly Bills: Nyara made a motion to accept and approve the monthly bills as presented, seconded by Bretting. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to conduct, the meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
