Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Pocernich verified that the meeting notice was published. Divine verified that the meeting notice was posted.

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the May 10, 2016, Minutes, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mike Mlynarek indicated that the Youth Crew began work on Monday, June 13th. They are all very enthusiastic.

The crew will be working on steam channel restoration, both on the Whittlesey and in Iron River. The town board will find some projects to be done. They will stain the deck at the hall.

The failed culvert on the railroad grade along Terwilliger Road has been replaced with a new 4’ culvert. Dale Johnston did the installation.

Comprehensive Plan Update: Jacobson reported that the commission met on June 6th for their regular quarterly meeting and to review a conditional use permit request from Ronald and Shellie Swanson for a car repair business with minimal car sales. The commission recommended approval for the permit by the town board.

Ondossagon Road Update: Joan is attending workshops in Stevens Point and Green Bay and will be at the July monthly meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Public Input: There was no public input

Conditional Use Permit: A conditional use permit was received by Ronald and Shellie Swanson to approve a home based business at their premises. It is requested to be a car repair shop with minimal sales included. The minimal sales are for individuals who would like to have him place a “for sale” sign on their vehicle.

A letter was received from Kurt and Joan Whitman regarding concerns for about the permit. A copy of that letter is attached to these Minutes.

After some discussion regarding screening of the property and the definition of limited sales, Pocernich made a motion to approve the conditional use permit for Ronald and Shellie Swanson for the operation of a car repair shop with minimal car sales, with the following conditions: Hours of Operation will be from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

2016 Gravel Bids: The following gravel bids were received:

Ashland Construction $20.50/yd $14.64/ton

KV Tech $17.12/yd $11.41/ton

Bob Olson & Co. $17.85/yd $12.75/ton Spread

Bob Olson & Co. $16.45/yd $11.75/ton Stock

Bretting made a motion to accept the gravel bid presented by K V Tech, seconded by Pocernich. Motion carried.

Renewal of Combination B Liquor License: A Combination 2 Liquor License Renewal was received by Topside Tavern LLC. No notifications contesting the application were received. Bretting made a motion to approve renewal of the Combination 2 Liquor License for Topside Tavern LLC, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Renewal of Alcohol Operator’s Licenses: Operator’s Licenses Applications were received by Amy Sharp; Tammy Klammerus; Brian Marco; Jessica Hoffmann and Sharon Harvey. Pocernich made a motion to approve renewal of Operator’s Licenses for Amy Sharp; Tammy Klammerus; Brian Marco; Jessica Hoffmann and Sharon Harvey, seconded by Bretting. Motion carried.

Quotes from Northwoods Paving for work on Town Roads: The following contract quotes were received:

Work on Wannabo Road $48,539.42

Work on Chequamegon Heights Road $29,915.22

Work on Wedal Road $22,776.24

Work on Cherryville Road $7,409.16

Copies of the proposals are attached to these Minutes.

Pocernich will contact Gary Morzenti to see if the price per ton can be the same for all projects as they are close in proximity to each other.

Bretting made a motion to approve the proposals provided by Northwoods Paving, with Dennis Pocernich requesting to have the price per ton the same for all projects, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Purchase of Fuel: Pocernich received notification by Steve Bearsdorf of Midland Services that COMO oil is adding a surcharge to its fuel deliveries. Divine checked into this and we are not being surcharged for our fuel. Discussion led to Bretting informing the board of another fuel company in the area called South Shore Oil Company from Hurley. He will contact them and see what prices and services they offer. In the meantime, Pocernich will request a copy of the letter Dave received from Mr. Bearsdorf.

Amendment to Driveway Permit Application: This item is tabled until the next meeting.

Bono Creek Project: Divine indicated that she received the easement from the DOT to do landscaping along the highway right-of-way, along the old S curve. The permit allows trimming, cutting grass and adding a couple benches and grills. Divine requested permission to purchase the grills and benches. The Board approved the purchases.

Ondossagon Road Project: Bretting and Nyara will contact some engineers to speak to the Board at the next meeting.

Road Crew Report: Lucius said things are going well.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Treasurer’s Report: Sanders provided the monthly report. A copy is attached to these Minutes.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 7:00 p.m.

Expenditures: The expenditures were reviewed and checks approved and signed. Pocernich made a motion to accept the expenditures as presented, seconded by Bretting. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
