Members of the Public Present: David Maki, Arlene Tosch and Dale Johnston

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine verified that the meeting notice was posted and published.

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the June 9, 2015, Minutes, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mike Mlynarek indicated that there was a meeting to open the Wickstrom Bridge bids on July 9th. Only one bid arrived, submitted by Arnie Mackey Construction and is on the agenda for this meeting. The most the town may have to pay is approximately $53,000, however bridge aids can be applied for through the county. It is anticipated that the paving and culvert replacement at the bridge site will take place in 2016.

The YCC crew did some cleanup at the Bono Creek boat landing site. They also stained the ramp at the hall. Mike stated that he has a very good crew this year.

Comprehensive Plan Update: A Class B permit was received, however, it was not in time for the posting of the meeting. The board agreed to let the county handle it at their monthly meeting. The request was for a home-based business with signage for Patti and Craig Vernon.

Ondossagon Road Update: Joan Whitman underwent surgery and could not make the meeting. She sent an update via e-mail and plans to attend the August meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Public Input: Arlene Tosch asked if there would be snow plowing for 2015. She was told that hadn’t been discussed yet. She also requested to have the right of way mowed by her driveway again. The crew is in the process of doing so at the current time.

Bids for the Wickstrom Bridge Project: A second bid was received for the project, however it did not arrive on time. It will be sent back to the bidder unopened.

The Board reviewed the bid submitted by Arnie Mackey Construction in the amount of $233,168. Everything appeared to be intact. Bretting made a motion to accept the bid from Arnie Mackey Construction in the amount of $233,168, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Road Crew Report: Garz indicated that the dump truck has a recall notice and it will be driven to Duluth for repair on Thursday, July 16^th. He is still waiting for lights in the pole barn and the hot water heater in the shop needs replacing. He indicated that the traffic counter has been taken down. The results from 43 days of counting are: 48,076 total counts; 6,868 weekly, 982 daily.

Clerk’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Treasurer’s Report: Sanders provided the monthly report. A copy is included in these Minutes.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.

Expenditures: The expenditures were reviewed and checks approved and signed. Bretting made a motion to accept the expenditures as presented, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
