Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pocernich at 7:00 p.m.

Verification of Posting and Publishing: Divine verified that the meeting notice was posted. Pocernich verified that it was published.

Approval of Previous Month’s Minutes: Bretting made a motion to dispense with reading the June 10, 2014, Minutes, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on US Fish & Wildlife Activities: Mike Mlynarek was not present. He did e-mail everyone with the following updates:

YCC has helped with brushing around town bridges and has been involved with lots of biological projects. They should be staining the Town Hall ramp and back steps next week.

We captured 3 nice brook trout during a fish survey on Dusenbery's, where we added logs last year. No brook trout sampled prior to July 2013 log installation. Got what's probably the largest brook trout recently sampled in Whittlesey, approx. 14" and 1/2 lb..

Log installation for 2014 is scheduled during week of July 21 and includes the stretch of Whittlesey south of Cherryville Rd., between the 2 bridges. Over 200 logs will be added.

Still haven't received the report from Twin Ports Testing regarding soil borings at the Wickstrom bridge site. Ben Dufford is checking on status. We need it to proceed with engineering and design. We visited a nice new engineered wood bridge on a Forest Service road that crosses Trout Brook outside of Mellen. Photo attached. It’s 2-lane and paved and certainly 1-lane unpaved would be sufficient for Wickstrom Rd.

Comprehensive Plan Update: There was nothing new to report. Next meeting will be on September 8th.

Ondossagon Road Grant Update: Joan Whitman will be presenting more information at the public informational meeting being held July 9, 2014, at the Barksdale Town Hall at 7:00 p.m. The type of funding that is received will be based on the type of construction being done.

Additional Crew Member: This item will be removed from the agenda beginning in August.

NEW BUSINESS

Public Input: Sanders mentioned that the corner of Cherryville and Range Road on Dr. McCue’s property is obscured by a pine tree. Garz will see if the tree is in the right-of-way.

Declaring an Emergency: Divine handed out samples of handling the process of declaring an emergency for the town during bad weather. A resolution will be prepared for the August meeting.

Building and Sanitary Permits: None.

Road Crew Report: Garz asked if the culverts on Ondossagon Road near the skating rink were still a go to be put in. The board said yes, to put them in. The culvert on the end of East Ondossagon Road will be put on hold until more information can be learned on when Highway 13 will be worked on.

Clerk’s Report: Divine informed the board that one outstanding snowplow bill has not been paid. The bill is to James and Viviana Whyte. A special charge will be placed on their tax bill if it is not paid by that time. Bayfield County’s annual Clean Sweep events will begin this weekend.

Chairman’s Report: Nothing new to report.

Treasurer’s Report: Sanders provided the monthly report. A copy is included in these Minutes. An outstanding check to Paul Beeksma is believed to be lost. He requested that we make a new check out to Whittlesey Creek 4-H instead of to him. Divine will print the check when she does the next payroll.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at 7:00 p.m.

Expenditures: The expenditures were reviewed and checks approved and signed. Pocernich made a motion to accept the expenditures as presented, seconded by Nyara. Motion carried.

Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, Nyara made a motion to

adjourn, seconded by Bretting. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
