I did all my schooling in Bangalore. I studied at the National High School,Basavanagudi, where I passed my class X with a state rank 14. I graduated from the pre-university course at the National College,Basavanagudi branch in 1998. I chose the Electronics and Communications stream for my B.E at the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore University and passed out in 2002 with first rank for the ECE branch.
I worked in Robert Bosch Bangalore for around 6 months before joining Dept of Electrical Engg,IISc for my MSc(Engg) ( graduated in 2006) and PhD( graduated in 2012). I worked in the areas of audio retrieval, analysis,source separation and enhancement during my days in IISc. I worked part time as a training consultant for Cranes Software Intl,India from 2004-2007 in the area of audio and speech coding. I also worked as the lead audio researcher for AVK Systems,Bangalore/Lausanne from 2009-2010 in the area of audio enhancement for sports broadcast. I also spent 3 years at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits(FIIS),Erlangen,Germany as a researcher in the domains of audio coding, sonification, auditory displays and automotive audio. I have been with Samsung Research and Development Institute-Bangalore since May 2015 as a team lead with the audio group, working to design and develop audio applications for mobile and wearable devices.
