[1] Collaborated with Nebraska State Law Enforcement Training Center. Successfully facilitated the conversion of State Police RADAR certification Training materials.

Duration: Feb 2021 – May 2021, PI: Balaji Balasubramaniam, Project Amount: $6,000.

[2] Received Foundation Grant for the purchase of INFO lab equipment.

Duration: 2020 - 2021, PI: Balaji Balasubramaniam, Award Amount: $1,500.

[3] Mini-grant proposal accepted to establish “Robotics Lab” project in the Central Community College. It was the highest approved mini-grant in the department.

Ø Spring 2020 – Research paper was featured in the Best Paper session of the International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems (ICCPS) 2020.

Ø Fall 2019 – Received $5,000 professional development scholarship from Central Community College.

Ø Spring 2018 - Received Teaching assistantship (for Human Computer Interaction course) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ø Fall 2016 to Fall 2017 - Received Research assistantship from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ø 2012 - Received “Award of Excellence” for the research work in school of CS & IT at IIITM-K.

Ø 2011 - Received Speed IT scholarship from Govt. of Kerala for pursuing Master degree.

Ø 2011 to 2013 - Served as Student Coordinator in organizing IEEE-CAS outreach workshop, Embedded workshop & Armature radio workshop that was hosted by IIITMK.

Ø 2011 to 2013 - Served as Vice President of Arts & Sports club (ASCIIT) in IIITM-K and was instrumental in conducting various ceremony and sports day for students & staff.

Ø 2008 to 2011 - Received “Youngest achiever”, “On the Spot” & “Best Value Defined Framework (VDF)” award during project work in TCS company.

Ø 2004 to 2008 - Represented college in state level sports meet for volleyball and shuttle, also, received state level prizes for project design contest and paper presentation during under graduation.

Ø 2002 and prior - Zonel level runner in volleyball and District level second place in innovative drawing during school days.

Highlights of research projects - 2013 and previous

The following section showcases research projects that were not published in the reputed conferences or journals. These projects are some of my early works before starting to publish in serious research communities such as ICSE, FSE, ICCPS, etc. I am planning to include research highlights of the papers after 2013 here, but for the time being please find my latest research in "Publications" tab.

Research activities at Machine Intelligence group

Parallel programming – With the help of Visual studios IDE and OpenCV library using C language, parallel computing was carried out in CUDA on NVIDIA Tesla graphics card C-2075 containing 448 cores. The program was able to acquire images and videos using this platform and the processing algorithm had control of global, texture, constant & shared memory at its disposal. Also, the kernel was optimised to have utmost 80 percentage of GPU utilization which was observed using Parallel Nsight.

Image processing – This research activity was focused on developing a Hardware-based algorithm for image recognition. Currently, most techniques that utilize the algorithm approaches need a complexity of O(N) after implementation, while the proposed approach requires O(1), where N is the number of pixels.

Intel fellowship award – It was awarded to promote research activities/ projects on Intel ATOM platform. I was involved in developing real-time embedded system projects as part of this, projects like irregular pixel to represent images, autonomous face detection and tracking, obstacle avoidance robot and Digitalized Auscultation of heartbeat was developed using this platform by guiding junior students. This implementation involves using GPIO ports, sensors, etc. in UNIX platform.
