The plan was to paddle from Iqaluit to Nain, and further if possible that season.

2 September. Strong winds. Paddled through strait to unnamed island near south of Button island group. (10)

4 September. Crossed Gray Strait to northwest Killinek Island. (11) and hiked across Killinek Island to Amittoq Inlet. (12)

5 September. Hiked back to kayak at (11)

6 September. Paddled to Port Burwell. Found anchored oil tanker on route south from Hudson Bay. Hitched a ride.

On board the tanker Eastern Shell 

The tanker took about four days to reach Halifax Nova Scotia, where I made arrangements for transporting my kayak and flew to meet friends at St Johns Newfoundland.
