The Bach Ensemble of Edinburgh was formed in 2012 with a view to performing the works of Bach and other composers of the Baroque period. They have performed Bach: Six Brandenburg Concertos and Four Orchestral Suites, Keyboard Concertos in D Minor, E Major, A Major, F Minor, D Major, G Minor, the Double Keyboard Concerto in C, the two Triple Keyboard Concertos in C and D Minor and the Solo Cantatas Ich habe genug (BWV82&82a), Widerstehe doch der Sünde, Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, Weichet nur, betrübte Schatten, Ich bin vergnügt mit meinem Glücke and Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut.

The group has given very well attended, successful performances for fifteen years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at Canongate Kirk. Other Baroque repertoire has included: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons Op.8 1-4, the complete L'Estro Armonico Op.3 1-12 and more recently Handel Concerti Grossi Op.6 Nos. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,11&12 and Op.3 No.1,2,3&4 and a chamber reduction Mozart Piano Concerto No.22 in Eb. In addition to this, works by Corelli, Handel, Mozart, Purcell, Rameau, Vivaldi and Warlock have been performed. They recently gave a concert with the Edinburgh Bach Choir .
