Wireless power transfer (WPT) techniques are important in a variety of applications in both civilian and military fields. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are being used for many practical purposes, such as monitoring or delivering payloads. WPT techniques can be broadly categorized into two types: near-field and far-field. Near-field techniques are adopted for applications where the distance between the transmitter and receiver is within a few millimeters or centimeters. In contrast, far-field methods are able to achieve longer distances. They can be used for applications where the distance between the transmitter and receiver is within several kilometers.
