2023 Elections

Hi Dons! Please read the information below regarding the 2023-24 class officer and ASB positions/duties. Current Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will be able to vote for their respective class offers and ASB on Friday, April 21st ! The results of the election will be announced the following week at lunch! 

Class Officer Duties

Class Officers are responsible for planning events specific to their respective classes. All Class Officers are tasked with planning a Homecoming Skit (including scripts, sign-ups, and practices) as well as planning fundraisers for their respective classes. Class officers are also required to work over the summer.

Freshmen class officer: 

-Freshmen class officers are appointed at the beginning of each school year 

-Plan and organize class T-shirts, skits, and fundraisers to raise money for future class events

Sophomore class officers: 

-Plan and organize class T-shirts, skits, and fundraisers to raise money for future class events

-Will begin to find locations/venues for their junior prom 

Junior class officers: 

- Plan and organize class T-shirts, fundraisers, etc. 

- Finalize the plans & carry out Junior Prom. 

Senior class officers: 

- Put on all Senior Activities such as Sunset, Picnic, T-shirts, Fundraisers, Ball, and the Senior Assembly.

ASB Officers

ASB is an integral part of  running the Leadership class. In addition to their individual responsibilities, ASB must guide other students as they work on day-to-day tasks. ASB is an extensive time commitment, requiring many summer hours to plan for the upcoming year, as well as coordinating with administration, and holding weekly meetings throughout the school year. Only seniors with at least one year experience in the class are eligible to run for ASB


President: 

- Lead ASB Officers and Executive Council in a weekly meeting. 

- Create the agenda for this meeting and email it to team in advance. 

- Representative for Amador Valley. Speak at Freshmen Orientation, Back to School Night, and lead the flag salute at Graduation. 

- Serve on Pleasanton Unified School Board as Amador’s Student Representative

- Preside over all activities Leadership puts on.


Vice President:

-Assist ASB Officer during meetings by keeping time 

- When the ASB President is absent you will lead the activity.  

- AVHS club coordinator for Amador Valley. 

- Renew all clubs and work during the year to approve new clubs and keep updated on existing ones. 

-Operates the amadorclub@gmail.com email


Secretary:

- Responsible for relations between the leadership class, administration, and executive council/asb officers. 

- Expected to keep detailed meeting minutes (of each meeting) and send a weekly email to the class with updates.  

-Contact administration and teachers during elections and other asb operated events. 

-Responsible for keeping daily meeting minutes (during class) and note down important events so the administration can be involved.


Treasurer:

- In charge of budgeting ASB Accounts

- Signs off on every expenditure the school makes to ensure correct procedure has taken place


Executive Council: 

-Members of executive council assist the ASB officers with their duties as well as lead various tasks in the leadership class
