About Me

Currently, I am associated as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITD&M) Kancheepuram, Chennai 600127 (India).  My research interests include Fabrication Technologies (Micro/Nanofabrication, Laser Machining, Surface Engineering) for MEMS, Micro/Nano-fluidics, Bio-fluidics, Bio-medical Devices and Health Care. 

I am also associated as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering, Stanford University, California, USA 94305. Here, my work includes assisting professors in teaching. Moreover, I am performing a joint collaborative work on "Theoretical and Experimental Quantification of Error in Enzyme Kinetics Parameter of CRISPR-Cas12 and Cas13". The objective of the collaboration is to develop and release the capability of CRISPR for disease diagnosis and treatment. The CRISPR promises a more sensitive and accurate detection/cure of disease. Parallelly, I am working on another project for desalination of water using novel microfluidic-based mixers in FCDI (Flow-electrode Capacitive Deionization). In this project, I am designing and analyzing various microfluidic mixers for better mixing and efficiency.

In past, I  worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur until 2019 under Prof. Anindiya Chatterjee and Prof. Niraj Sinha. My post-PhD research experience includes Early Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. I worked as Assistant Professor (TEQIP faculty) in a World Bank and MHRD-(Government of India) project (NPIU) for a semester (2018) at THDC-Institute of Hydropower Engineering & Technology Tehri (Uttarakhand). I obtained my PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2018 under  Prof. Subhra Datta and Prof. Dinesh Kalyanasundaram.

I received my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal in 2010 and M. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in 2012 (Under Prof. Shantanu Bhattacharya). I was Research Associate at the Bio-MEMS and Micro-fluidics Laboratory, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, from August 2012 to November 2012. I worked as Research Associate with Prof. G. K. Ananthsuresh and Prof. Ashitava Ghoshal in Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber Physical system, Mechanical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore for a year (2013).

I have published 14 international journals, 10 international conference papers, 3 books and 12 book chapters. I have supervised around 20 UG/PG/Ph.D. students towards their thesis.
