DIY GUITAR COURSES
I carried out several classes in which participants were able to construct nice acoustic guitars under my supervision. The process was a pleasure both for them and me. A form of true entertainment via craftwork! During the process, we learn how to make the plans of a music instrument, how to position the inner ribs of the sound box, how to calculate frets, bend the guitar sides, and many other subtleties that I easily explain due to long experience in building and teching.
Greek Bouzouki Do-It-Yourself course NEW! An enthusiastic young bouzouki and flute musician from Galway travelled to Sofia to make his own Greek bouzouki in my cute house workshop. This particular bouzouki has 1/4 tone frets at 4 places on the fretboard, such that Ciaran is able to include oriental nuances to Irish folk music or metal that he plays.
"Apprentice" guitar repair: People can repair their instruments in the workshop. Everybody is skilled enough to revive old broken instruments. Of course with some help from me - to be sure of their great results!
A 3 months' course in furniture recycling to guitars at Rediscovery Centre Dublin
We worked with a group of 7 people involved in restoring old furniture. Some solid furniture pieces such as table legs and mahogany wardrobe doors were used to build our beutiful guitars.
Short 7-days private courses in guitar making. Enthusiasts, among which a 10 years old boy, made their first handcrafted guitars with me.
An intensive goup course. The Back Loft, Dublin, Ireland. Almost done after 5 evenings' work.
