- [August 2018] Prof. Chung delivered an invited talk regarding the atomic-scale configurational control at interfaces in perovskite oxides for energy applications at the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Solid State Studies in Ceramics. Hye-Sung and Jumi also gave poster presentations on BaCeO3 and LaNiO3 for energy conversion.

 - [October 2016] The international workshop, "EEWS 2016: Progress & Perspectives of Energy Science & Technology", was held in the KI Building with cordial participation of the students and faculty members of Graduate School of EEWS along with renowned reseachers including Profs. Yi Cui (Standford U.), William Goddard (Caltech.), Yuichi Ikuhara (U. Tokyo), Miquel Salmeron (LBL), and Mohamed Eddaoudi (KAUST).

- [March 2016] Jin Hyun's work on Cu2ZnSnSe4 was highlighted as the frontispiece in the 6th issue of Advanced Energy Materials in 2016.

- [November 2015] Prof. Chung was elected as an Associate Member of the Korean Academy of Science & Technology (KAST, 한국과학기술한림원).

- [August 2015] Prof. Yuichi Ikuhara at University of Tokyo visited KAIST for the international workshop on ceramics, organized by Prof. Suk-Joong L. Kang.  In addition to him, many collegues (Prof. Wai-Yim Ching (UMKC), Prof. Jian Luo (UCSD), Prof. Klaus van Benthem (UC Davis), Prof. Katsuyuki Matsunaga (Nagoya U.) Prof. Naoya Shibata (U. Tokyo), Prof. Teruyasu Mizoguchi (U. Tokyo), Prof. Masato Yoshiya (Osaka U.), Dr. Scott Findlay (Monash U.), Dr. Young-Min Kim (KBSI), and Dr. Si-Young Choi (KIMS) got togther in Jeju for the conference, PacRim11, and made great contributions to the symposium organized by Prof. Chung.

- [July 2015] Hyewon received the Best Poster Award at Nano Korea 2015 (the 13th International Nanotech Symposium & Nanoconvergence Expo) held in Seoul.
