John Gallucci, Sr.
Started the Montville Lacrosse program in 1973 when there were only 12 teams in the entire state, and he retired from lacrosse in Montville in 2000
Registered 280+ wins, putting him in the top tier for wins among NJ coaches, many coming in the most competitive conference in the state
Garden State Coach of the Year in 1977-1978 and in 1980 when Montville won the Garden State Title.
Started Ath-Ed Sports in 1992 at the Montville Recreation Center with the idea that NJ lacrosse had to compete more often than just the regular season if it was going to catch up with Long Island and Maryland. Games were played at night in the summer, allowing students to play lacrosse then sit in a free SAT class after
In 1997, he started the first Fall Ball league in NJ at Bayley Ellard HS
Has coached the Thunder 2016 and 2018 teams to undefeated seasons while playing some of the best club teams on the East Coast
Got back into coaching in 2012 when he joined the Mt. Olive coaching staff as the Defensive Coordinator. Mt. Olive won 2 consecutive conference titles, going undefeated in regulation play two years in a row
Retired from interscholastic competition in 2015, but will still come down to Thunder practices on occasion to work with defensemen
David Gallucci
Was a standout lacrosse player at Montville High School, obtaining numerous All-State, All-County, and All-Area awards
Held the Montville High School Career scoring record for 14 years
He also earned All-Conference honors as a quarterback on the football team
He went on to play Division I lacrosse at Drexel University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems
After college, he was an assistant at Bayley-Ellard High School in 2003, and would become the head coach in 2004
Currently volunteers as a coach and as a board member of the Newton Braves Junior Lacrosse Club
Head coach for the NJ Freeze hockey club, as well a volunteer coach for the Roxbury Youth Ice Hockey Association
Currently the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Mount Olive High School, where he has been the head coach since the inception of the program in 2005. He has quickly turned Mount Olive into a top contender in NJ, where his alumni have enjoyed lacrosse careers at the D1, D2, and D3 levels in NCAA and MCLA competition.
Has won conference championships in 2012, 2013, and a dual championship in 2018. Mt. Olive was a state finalist in 2018.

Attended Montville High School where he set the records for most goals and most total points scored in school history that held up through 1997
Led NJ in scoring during the 1990 season, finishing third in his Junior year.
Was a 3-time All-State attackman and one of three New Jersey athletes invited to try out for Team USA’s U19 team
Went on to play attack for Lehigh University’s Top-25 NCAA DI lacrosse team in the early 1990’s
Coached for Moravian Academy High School in Bethlehem, PA, and has also coached in the Sparta, Pope John, and Mt. Olive youth lacrosse programs.
Has been involved with Ath-Ed & Thunder Lacrosse since its inception in 1992, and has coached Thunder Elite teams from grades 4-12
Is Tournament Director for Ath-Ed sports and is responsible for the Fall Finale Classic (100 teams every November) and the Lehigh Laxfest (300 teams every June)
