Ath-Ed Sports offers a one-stop shopping solution to your lacrosse education and training needs. A family business with family morals, values, and priorities, we want you to play a lot...not pay a lot.
Ath-Ed Sports, Inc. started in 1992 and was founded by John Gallucci, Sr. The primary reason “Senior” started Ath-Ed was to allow New Jersey lacrosse players to gain recognition by college coaches, in order to further the athlete's lacrosse experience. Since starting the league, New Jersey lacrosse has gone from a third tier lacrosse state, to competing with the best of Long Island, Upstate NY, and Maryland. Ath-Ed Sports has been running tournaments with elite teams from these areas since 1992, and has now built up the reputation as a great lacrosse program geared towards the athletes and for a very low cost. Ath-Ed is proud to give NJ athletes the opportunity to gain valuable game experience.
In 1997, Ath-Ed Sports became the first league to run in the Fall. John Sr. explains his idea. “I would go and watch my sons play lacrosse in college and they would travel to tournaments in the fall. The weather was reasonable, and I thought to myself...why aren’t we doing this on the High School level?” In 1997, John Sr. and his wife Linda opened up a fall league...and 32 high school teams registered. Ath-Ed has been the premier Fall League in North Jersey ever since.
Ath-Ed now offers other opportunities to play lacrosse. Jersey Thunder is a club program that started in 2005 with one team that traveled to three tournaments. It has since grown into one of the best traveling programs in the area, with athletes from NY, NJ, and PA.
Along with leagues, traveling opportunities, and clinics, Ath-Ed also runs two of the most reputable tournaments on the East Coast. The Lehigh Laxfest, and the Fall Finale Classic. Despite the rapid growth of the company, Ath-Ed keeps the basic principles in mind. This is a family business. The Gallucci’s use their knowledge of the game and experience to help their athletes succeed in lacrosse and in life. They surround themselves with not only knowledgeable people and coaches, but people with strong morals, values, and ethics. When you participate in an Ath-Ed event, whether it be a league, tournament, clinic, or travel team, you will open the door to succeed in whatever you decide to do in life.
