SWAG Status

SWAG status 2015: Top an ammonia (3,3) peak flux map. The insert shows the entire survey region, the red box has been observed to date. Below, a H2O water maser peak flux map. Sgr 2 is celary dominated by sidelobes, but we find thousands of new maser sources in the area.

Peak flux maps of NH3 (1,1), (4,4), H66 alpha, HNCO, and C3H2 for the 2014 survey area. At the top we show a few sample spectra of the ammonia (1,1) line. Note that the C3H2 map is in fact a map of the absorption features, absorption against the CMB.

A first continuum image - note that this is based on 20MHz whereas the full survey will have a depth of 2GHz. The strong source to the left is the bright star forming region Sgr B2. The vertical lines are the non-thermal emission and to the north the thermal arched filaments are visible. The strong source close to the center of the map is the supermassive black hole Sgr A*.
