Course Intent

"Managing Threats and Errors . . . A Proactive Approach" examines the topic of a "Just Culture - Developmental Strategies for a Safety Culture". This encompasses the use of every skill introduced to in the Human Factors Initial Course. It examines our role as to how we fit in with the “Just Culture” concept, that is, the errors made can be not only corrected by us modifying our behavior but as well proactive modifications made by management. It examines Errors as unsafe acts unintentionally committed. The course takes an in-depth look at threats and risks that are around us and explores ways to mitigate them through workshop scenarios.

Communication, Decision Making and Professionalism - Approaches to Understanding Generational Cultures . . . . . Three Hour Class

Course Intent

This interactive course in human factors examines how effective communication, purposeful decision making and professional behavior can help employees overcome the different generational cohorts they are working with every day. It is worth noting that the generational differences between employees are regarded as one of the major obstacles facing the workforces in today’s businesses. Realizing there are multiple generations in our society, each having its own culture, cultures which influence how they perceive their environment and how they interface with one another, can bring about the need for achieving an understanding and developing higher expectations. Safer “best practices” can be attained through learning how various generational groups affect one another. Through understanding where priorities are set, either positively or negatively, and by using enhanced communication, decision making skill sets and professional practices, a purposeful workforce will be created.
