Recommendation Systems
A web-based novel recommender platform that will facilitate research collaborations among scientists, enhance use/reuse of datasets, and make it easier for researchers to find relevant publications, datasets, collaborators, funding opportunities, and more. By leveraging natural language processing techniques and machine learning algorithms, the VRA will provide researchers with personalized recommendations tailored to their specific interests and research needs.
Data Management, Analysis and Visualization
The Health of Texas Survey will inform future public health programming and strategies to address and improve health priorities. The sample for the Health of Texas cohort will begin with recruitment of Texas CARES participants. The success and impact of Texas CARES project have been recognized through continued funding from the DSHS to maintain the 90,000-participant cohort, enable linkage to electronic health records (EHRs), and support ongoing surveillance for evolving health outcomes.
The Texas CARES Project is studying the human antibody response to COVID-19. Over 90,000 Texans have participated since 2020, helping researchers measure antibody levels and duration. This information is used to shape local and state responses to COVID-19 and identify any new needs related to long COVID or ongoing social or economic impacts.
A platform that contains maps, graphs and analyses, to provide Texans with a better understanding of COVID-19 trends at the state level, the county level, and within collections of counties (trauma service areas, public health regions, and metropolitan areas). The platform contains visualizations of COVID19 cases, deaths, vaccinations, hospitalization, and more.
A collaborative effort lead by Texas Department of State Health Services and UTHealth partnering with universities and laboratories across the state of Texas to expand genomic sequencing of the virus that causes COVID-19. The new Texas SARS-CoV-2 Variant Network will sequence and study more COVID-19 samples from around the state to provide a better picture of circulating and emerging variants of the COVID-19 virus.
Harris SAVES (SARS-CoV-2 Prevalence Survey) a research project developed to better understand the prevalence and transmission of COVID-19 in Harris County, Texas. The project was led by UTHealth School of Public Health in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine and Harris County Public Health
