275 - gal Rainwater Tanks:
We sell 275-gal rainwater tanks like the ones in the photos above. These tanks have been used once for transport of a food-grade syrup. The tanks are constructed of HDPE #2 recyclable plastic and have a galvanized steel pallet-cage structure that supports stacking up to three high when full of liquid. They are 39" wide by 48" deep by 46" high. The tanks have a 6" diameter lid on the top and a 2" MPT threaded valve at the bottom.
Our current tank price is $150, which includes thorough cleaning of the tanks and delivery to your house (Silver City, NM and surrounding areas). We also sell a garden hose adapter for $24.
We also offer delivery to other areas in NM, AZ, and TX for individual or combined orders of 8 or more tanks.
Rainwater Tank Installations:
We encourage you to install the tanks yourselves and are happy to provide any tips we can offer. The simplest installation is a single tank at each desired downspout. The downspout is configured to go through a hole cut in the 6" lid of the tank. Multiple-tank configurations either in vertical (stacked) or horizontal configurations are a little more complicated, but provide larger storage volumes.
We recommend painting or covering your tanks to prevent UV sunlight from degrading the plastic. A covering also keeps your rainwater cleaner by preventing algae growth and accumulation of other microorganisms that feed on algae.
We also offer installations services. We will help you decide how to configure your tanks for your site and to optimally meet your rainwater catchment and irrigation needs. We perform ground preparation work (digging, leveling, etc.); tank set-up and plumbing for single and multiple tanks and overflows; and gutter downspout plumbing from your roof to the tank. We can also apply the covering treatment, paint or other material, to suit your needs and aesthetics.
The photo below shows an installation of two of our 275-gal tanks. The tanks are painted. The tank on the right receives water piped from the roof downspout to a screened inlet at the top of the tank. The tanks and plumbed together such that the tank on the right overflows to the tank on the left. The left tank has an overflow pipe buried underground that outlets to earthworks in a different area of the yard. Each tank has a garden hose adapter and full-port clean-out.
Installation of two 275-gal tanks for 550gal total storage, with screened inlet and overflow to landscape earthworks.
Larger Capacity Systems:
We design and install larger capacity rainwater harvesting storage systems such as the 2400gal system shown below. We are able to get good prices on high quality poly (black HDPE) tanks through our distributor out of Cloudcroft, NM. We can also design and install other types of cisterns, such as underground precast concrete septic tanks approved for potable water with capacity up to 5,700gal.
Installation of two 1,200gal poly tanks for 2,400gal storage, with leaf-filtering rainhead (below gutter), first flush device, buried "wet-pipe" conveyance, and overflow to landscape earthworks (photo taken prior to trench backfill).
Order Your Rainwater Tanks:
Please call or e-mail us to order your tanks and to discuss installation concerns or needs. We don't keep a back-stock of tanks on hand but can usually deliver within two to three weeks. Also consider scheduling an integrated design site consultation!
