We offer integrated design and installation services for rainwater harvesting that includes rainwater harvesting earthworks, catchment tanks or cisterns, and greywater systems.
Free Initial Site Visit:
We offer a free initial site visit. This enables us to get a look at your site and get a feel for what is possible and also to determine from you what you want to see. We'll spend about fifteen minutes discussing some of your options. If you choose, we'll follow up with an integrated design site consultation.
Integrated Design Site Consultation ($280):
Our integrated design site consultation is a three part process:
First we will walk your property, observe slopes and topography, and look at a host of other potential factors including passive heating and cooling of your house through placement of shade trees; view-sheds; wind and noise barriers; common usage and pathways; outdoor gathering, eating, or hangout spots; wildlife and/or pet areas; vegetable gardens; greywater resources; additional run-on resources; current city/well-water household and irrigation usage; and especially your dreams and desires for your landscape.
Second: We go back to the office and crunch some numbers to determine annual and peak event rainwater resources from both your roof-scapes and your overall property. We will sketch up a preliminary design with proposed earthworks and plantings, tanks or cisterns, and greywater systems.
Third: We will get back to you with a written report presenting our proposed landscaping earthworks, tank/cistern, and greywater features. We'll provide an estimate of time and materials required for each sub-project and suggest priority. If you like what you see and choose to proceed, we'll move ahead with detailed design and installation.
Detailed Design and Installation ($44/hour):
For detailed design and installation we typically charge $44/hour plus materials.
The nature of the detailed design varies depending on the project. For tanks/cisterns and greywater systems it includes determining required plumbing pipe, fittings, additional components and layout. For earthworks we're specifying dimensions and layout of the basins, pathways and conveyances, number and size of individual plants, shrubs and trees, volumes of mulch, tonnage of rock, etc.Â
Installation is when we show up at your place and physically create or install the features.
