periodic Occurrence of Red Rain

Red rain occurred in many parts of Kerala during the months of July- September 2002, 2003 and 2004 periodically (See Table). More than ten reported case of red rain occurred during July-September 2002 in Kerala where Idukki district, eastern part of Kerala, witnessed intense red rain. Also there are reports of intense red rain in the entire village of Napoklu (Latitude, 12.3, Longitude, 75.66 in fig 2) in southern part of Karnataka during July 2002 (http://www.kodava.org/kf/Jul2002/kf073002.htm). In 2003 some cases of red rain are reported in the local media. Also more than five occurrences of red rain are reported during the period of July- Sep 2004. In the subsequent years red rain occurred in several areas in diminishing frequencies
