"Increasing the power and legitimacy of Palestinians and Israelis working for nonviolent solutions to the conflict." --Just Vision

Just Vision, founded in 2003 and based in Washington DC, New York and Jerusalem, uses films: Encounter Point, Budrus, Homefront, My Neighborhood and educational tools to teach people about and support non-violent solutions to the conflict. By foregrounding the actions and identities of ordinary people in the conflict, creating media content in Arabic, Hebrew and English, and by deflating stereotypes of Palestinians and Israelis, they are able to connect with Palestinian, Israel, and American audiences. A team of Palestinian, Israeli, North and South American human rights advocates, conflict resolution experts, filmmakers and journalists comprise Just Vision. Of great interest to high school educators and students are the resources Just Vision has collected and developed themselves. On the part of their website, you will find http://www.justvision.org/resources with primary sources, screening guides to the films, classroom exercises and lesson plans, online maps, "voices from the field," and "the role of the media."

Irene Nasser is Strategic Projects Coordinator and the Co-producer of Home and My Neighbourhood ; Suhad Babaa is the Digital Resources and Education Coordinator. I met with these two in their office on Sheikh Jarrah Street. The following video is an interview with Suhad, explaining how Just Vision uses art in the form of documentary film and outreach to further non-violent action.
