What we do: Students work as artists, striving to gain new skills & improve existing ones. Everyone comes into our courses with a different experience & we leverage that to learn. We follow a routine centered on the Creative Process, where students research, explore media, practice, brainstorm & plan, make, and reflect. Collaborate with peers as you experiment & take creative risks. Frequently engaging in critiques & gallery walks expand your thinking. Set learning goals & work to meet goals set in assignments. Reflect on successes & seek ways to improve. With opportunities to work independently & collaboratively, students learn from each experience & from each other. Creative Process routines are the norm for how we work & the class community is your support system for becoming more skilled & creative.
Above , it's a very busy period! Everyone is doing something different because students are doing Choice-Based work . Students set learning goals, research, make practice work, plan, make art, get feedback, assess themselves and reflect on learning. Students have autonomy and grow creatively and more. Students make work that has personal meaning.
