RULES OF CERAMICS   - Clay clogs the drain, never put clay in the sink.

- Never touch other student work. It could break. Bone dry work is most the fragile.

-Make and remake work until your work is well-crafted. Only A & B work will be kiln fired.

-While the clay is wet, etch your name on the bottom of your ceramic work.

- Unfired clay can be recycled endlessly. Once fired, clay cannot be recycled.

- Underglaze is painted on unfired work (greenware), then bisque-fired. Glaze is painted on bisque-ware and refired. Do not mix up these materials.

- Participation is part of your grade.       - Conserve materials.              -Each kiln firing takes 2 days.

- Apply underglaze to greenware after Ms. Fitzpatrick sees it and gives approval to do so.

- Proper clean-up is required by all students. Clay dust is hazardous.

EXPERIMENT! "The outcome of experimentation is knowledge, and failure is just as valuable as success, because one has expanded one's awareness of one's own abilities, one's deeper ideas, the potential of a media, a process, a genre, an art-form. ... Artists must experiment in order to find their way around themselves."     Why Artists Must Experiment - Medium
