- **Occupational Outlook Handbook tells you what training and education is needed, as well as how much you will earn, what the job prospects are, working conditions and a day on the job. Use the "Search Handbook" box.
- **Career One Stop will give you information about many careers and will include current salary information. Be sure to select the links marked "Occupation Information" for the best results. At the bottom of the page, modify occupation profile to include the "Wage Information" and "Education & Training" options.
- National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering gives a brief description of major types of engineering programs found at many universities.
- Southern New Hampshire University 16 Types of Engineering
- Mapping Your Future provides information about all kinds of careers and helps you plan out a path to reach your goal, including education information.
- My Plan has information about both colleges and careers. Select "Career Database" to get started.
- Monster.com Try this job searching site for some benefits information.
- Indeed.com Another site for benefits- real job postings.

- Find the Best try this one if your major is a little hard to find.
- All About College Links to college websites, organized by country and state.
- California Colleges is a site where you can set up an account and maintain information all through your school career about your future college plans.
- College Toolkit choose how you search- by Major is a good place to start.
- The College Board choose "College Search" at the top and select your filters on the left
- Trade Schools Guide allows you to search different careers that require special training. "Search by Program"
- RWM Vocational Schools Database search vocational and trade schools by geographic area.
- Police Academies- Links to CA, but you can change the state on the right
- Fire Academies- Links to CA, but you can change the state on the right
Start your research with the recruiting sites- this will help you understand how to have a career in the branch of your choice. Today's Military is also a good starting point.
