Why Become A Member?

Membership secures our unit.  Without a unit, the PTA cannot exist.  Your dedication, commitment and support is the backbone of the PTA.

Members support the PTA mission: To make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Members pay yearly dues in the amount of $10 ($8 for staff).  Membership dues help keep our unit in compliance so that the unit can continue to work towards our mission.  Dues support the efforts of the local unit, the Michigan PTSA and the National PTA.    

The PTA promotes our children's health, well being, and educational success through strong parent, family, and community involvement.  We build the relationship between home and school, and improve the communication between parents, teachers and staff.       

The PTA funds assemblies, field trips, buses, class celebrations, family events, book fairs, dances, field days, staff appreciation, STEM programs, student technology, school resources, gym/playground equipment.

Membership has its perks.  Members get first dibs on all volunteer opportunities.  Members get chances to win Tiger Tickets and/or other raffle prizes.  Members get first hand knowledge of events/programs and are the first to receive PTA news.  More importantly, members have a voice!  They can advocate for our children.  And members have voting privileges during executive board elections, teacher/staff proposals, and budget changes.    

Who Can Join?

Anyone!  Mom, Dad, Guardian, Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent, Neighbor, Teacher, Staff, etc.   Membership in the Arno PTA shall be open, without discrimination, to anyone who believes in and supports the Mission and Purpose of the PTA.

Membership Drive is held at the beginning of the school year, however, Individuals can join at any point in the school year.

We ask that each member provide a current email address so that he/she can be updated on PTA news and events.  We use email to communicate volunteer opportunities specific to the PTA as well as updates on school events.
