Research

Major themes of my research:

-- Statistical thermodynamics of heat engines, work extraction etc, both quantum and classical. The major goal here is to understand new possibilities for more efficient and powerful engines.

-- Quantum measurement and quantum probability. The super-goal here is to understand how quantum mechanics is limited and how deal (understand, generalize) with probabilities in quantum mechanics.

-- Interdisciplinary things related to statistical physics and its applications in quantitative linguistics and social dynamics. It is our goal to make these fields similar to physics.

-- Biological physics. This is mostly physics of biopolymers and thermodynamics of adaptation.
