One’s teaching philosophy is well dependent on how they view knowledge and learning. I believe knowledge is not distinct from the known; it is created within individual minds; and students choose what they encounter. Hence, teaching is dialogical, and students construct knowledge based on their own interpretations and views of the world.
During my career as a teacher, I have attempted to provide learning opportunities that encourage participation and involvement. Students are at the core of my lesson plan. I aim to engage learners and make them feel they are part of the pedagogy cycle without whom there would be neither teaching nor learning.
Evoking discovery and achievement excitement is what I endeavor to accomplish in my classes, and my experience with online education has not been an exception to this. As it is the case with face-to-face education, it involves engaging learners in a technology-rich environment, ensuring curriculum relevance and using strategies that encourage a quality educational experience to design sound pedagogy for digital curriculum resources.
