COVID-19 update

Post date: March 2020

We will continue Rueda classes March 17 and potentially through April 1st, depending on attendance and health concerns. Given the recommended cautions about social distancing, we will concentrate on footwork, technique, musicality, and related dances such as rumba, son, and cubaton. This week the first hour will be salsa suelta (non-partner dance), followed in the second hour by some non-contact partnering. The first hour for the next two weeks continues our 6-week series, therefore I will do my best to keep the material to a beginning/intermediate level.

I anticipate that social distancing will be required at least through the summer. Given the fundamental nature of casino as a partner dance and rueda as a group dance, it is possible that our classes will be discontinued after April 1, until the corona virus danger has passed. In the meantime we will see how the new emphasis is received by students, and continue to brainstorm ideas.
