Computer Operations, Electronic Tools, Terminology

• Vocabulary: tool bars, palettes
• Advantages and disadvantages of technology in daily life,
• Proper care and use of CD
• Save and retrieve documents from a specific location
• Mouse skills: right click functions drag and drop, highlight and move text

Keyboarding

• Type sentences using right and left hands correctly on the keyboard
• Know shift, return, and end punctuation keys

A Responsible Digital Citizen

• Emphasis on creating original work
• Internet use under adult supervision, understand acceptable use of school computers
• Know and understand rules for password security, introduce citation of websites

Knowledge Constructor

• Identify research topic and develop a research question ( I wonder…?)
• Gather and organize information using a graphic organizer (Kidspiration)
