We have 6 weeks to prepare for the exam.
Each week you will be given a 30 problem Multiple Choice Packet. Those problems will be worked on
throughout the week. The packet will be turned in at the start of class on the following Monday. The
packet will be graded and is worth 10 pts.
Each week you will be given a group of Free Response problems that will help you to master the topic of
the week. These problems will not count toward your review grade.
There are 5 units in which you will be given a Free Response Quiz on day 2 of the unit. The quiz will be
graded and we will go over the quiz the next class period. Mastery of the topic of the week will be
achieved if you score 5 or higher on the 9 point quiz.
Scoring procedure for the Free Response Quiz:
5/9 or 6/9 is worth 8 pts.
7/9 is worth 9 pts.
8/9 or 9/9 is worth 10 pts.
On day 3 of the unit a second Free Response Quiz will be given. It will be another chance for students to
show mastery of the topic of the week. It is also a chance for students to improve on their mastery
score.
If a student doesn’t show mastery after the second attempt, they will earn a score of 5/10.
At the end of the review process each student will have a chance to earn up to 100 points (50 for the
Multiple Choice Packets and 50 for the Free Response Quizzes). The Review grade will be recorded as
Cumulative Exam #8.
