Opening and closings for inclement weather.
JUNE 24, 2021 Update
To our long-time members, welcome back! To our new members, of which we have many, we are grateful you found us! You'll soon discover the beauty of not only Queechy but also our APBA community. We look forward to seeing everyone at the lake and making new friends.
Our lifeguard team will have familiar faces—Naomi, Caroline, Taylor, Jiana, Jake, Mia and Lauren. Please say hi and welcome our new guards, too—Sam and Haley.
Just a couple of reminders:
When the guards are "on the chair," please direct any questions to the other guards on duty so as not to distract the guard watching the water and the safety of our members.
Please keep the area around the lifeguard picnic table clear so members can approach the table without obstruction. It may look just like a picnic table to us, but it's their "office" and needs to be accessible to all.
Please remember to sign in with the guards and sign out at the side table so we may provide accurate contract tracing for the Department of Health.
We just received confirmation from the Department of Health that all COVID restrictions have been lifted. Whether you wear a mask or not is volunteer and at your own comfort level.
Out of respect for everyone's personal comfort level, we still have social-distancing signs up around the lifeguard table and will leave it up to the guards if/when they would feel comfortable to remove them.
We will also still be doing contact tracing as well as providing hand sanitizer for all.
If you're a resident of Canaan, you can sign your children up for free swim lessons. Learn more on the Town of Canaan's website here.
Looking forward to another wonderful summer!
APBA Board
Applications are available on our website, so please download your membership form and join the summer fun!
Membership is open to Canaan and New Lebanon residents.
We're excited to share that the Town of Canaan Board has approved swim lessons for this summer for Canaan residents!
Please check the Town of Canaan website for updates. As of the writing of this email, the following are tentative dates:
July 5, 10AM–12PM - Registration and swim testing
July 6, 10AM–12PM - Classes begin
August 13, 12 PM - Classes end
As of the writing of this email, the Department of Health (DOH) is recommending that we use the same guidelines as last year (social distancing and masks). However, the 50% occupancy guideline might lighten up on May 19th. We'll stay in touch with the DOH and keep you updated as we learn more.
Join the APBA Board on Saturday, May 22nd at 10AM to set up the ropes and dock. Many hands make light work—plus, it's a good time to celebrate our reopening together.
We're excited to see you all this summer on the beautiful shores of Queechy Lake!
Please visit our website for more information and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
Another APBA season has come to an end, but none as challenging as this one. We never thought our little beach would have to deal with navigating a pandemic, but because of your help, we not only financially survived, we also successfully kept each other physically safe!
We're happy to report there was not a single positive case of COVID traced back to our beach. You should all pat yourselves on the back a few hundred times! We thank you for your cooperation and thank our guards for their extra efforts.
At our annual membership meeting, we did not have a quorum (which is only 10% of membership), therefore we could not hold an official election for the Board. The current Board appointed Hallie Halpern, Ann Macartney, and Stephanie Guelpa for a one-year term. Jeanne, Larry, Maurice and Charlie will also remain on the Board.
Our officers for the 2020/2021 year are as follows:
President: Jeanne Veillette Bowerman
Vice President: Larry Green
Treasurer: Maurice Bowerman
Secretary: Stephanie Guelpa
We'd like to also send a huge thank you to Dawn Hoag who resigned from the Board this year. Her tireless work at managing membership, creating beach passes, and communicating with the lifeguards kept us humming right along. She will be greatly missed.
Our final thanks go to the lifeguards who hung in waiting for the season to start, not knowing if they'd even have a job! Caroline, Naomi, Taylor, Jake, Jiana, Lauren, and Mia all stepped up to get us across the finish line when staffing got tough at the end of the season. We are so lucky to have them and hope they come back next summer!
Thank you all one more time for loving APBA enough to keep us safe and strong. And don't forget to take the survey!
Our deepest gratitude to you all!
Jeanne
President APBA
We wanted to do a mid-summer update to let you know how the season is going in general, and also give you an important update on the enforcement of our COVID Rules, Health Department concerns, and information on our Annual Meeting in August.
Just a reminder that all of our members should have signed a COVID waiver by now, and in that waiver, you agreed to follow the rules and take personal responsibility. Thank you! We're doing great and have received very few complaints! The reason we have asked people to "police" themselves is because our guards must keep their main focus on water safety and also checking the members in to document our occupancy for the County Health Department contact tracing. Please help us keep our guards focused on the water by continuing to obey the COVID Rules.
Also, to help with contact tracing, please remember to sign out when you leave the beach.
As we stated already, the guards #1 job is to keep you safe in the water. If you have questions to ask them, please ask the guard who is at the table, not the guard who is on the chair, watching the water. We know children love the guards, and the guards love your kids, but when the guards are on the chair, they must stay focused with their eyes always on the water. If you could please direct your children to not chat with the guard on chair duty, the entire membership will be safer for it. We appreciate it!
Every year we reach out to members to ask them to join our Board. I'm sure reading this email makes you think, "Yes! I'd love to help battle COVID and port-a-potties, sign me up!" I assure you, the challenges are very few compared to the rewards of seeing our friends and neighbors enjoy Queechy, and the next generation of lake kids learn how to swim at APBA and form lifetime friendships.
This year, especially, has been incredibly rewarding knowing we are possibly the only water hole in our county able to open! We almost lost APBA for this summer. Just the thought of it was devastating, but you came through! We could not have accomplished that without your help. If our membership pulled this off, we can truly do anything!
We're a fun and hardworking group of friends who would love to welcome more people to our team! If you have any questions about what we do throughout the year, feel free to email us or ask us about it when we see you on the beach. Per our bylaws, we should have seven Board members, but are currently operating with only five. We'll be seeking 3 or 4 new Board members at our Annual Meeting on August 15th, so please consider joining so we can keep APBA going strong!
More information about the Annual Meeting will be forthcoming, so stay tuned!
See you at the lake!
Jeanne
President APBA
We know no one wants to show up at the beach and get turned away, but while we're under NYS Health Department COVID restrictions, we may only operate at 50% capacity. But how will that work?
Occupancy functions on a first-come, first-serve basis. The goal is that everyone will be kind, patient, and cooperative. So, say someone’s been at the beach and frolicking in the sun and water for four hours, and then the guards announce we are now at maximum capacity. A new family comes in wanting to enjoy the lake, finding out we're full. Our hope is that the members who have already been there for four hours will be gracious and leave, allowing for more members to enjoy the day. However, we obviously cannot force people who have been at the beach already to vacate. We can only keep additional people from coming in.
It's up to the membership to be on an honor system, for the safety and benefit of all. Today, you may be there first, but tomorrow you may be the guest waiting on the pathway for someone to leave so you can enjoy the lake.
Our hope is that people will be cooperative and compassionate so everyone can enjoy the beach.
We've only had one day (yesterday) where we hit capacity, and our guards were gracious and polite in enforcing the difficult rule of having to turn members away. When capacity hits, the guards will announce it on their megaphone. We'll also post it on our Facebook page and Instagram, so be sure to follow us!
Please remember, this is not a rule the guards or the APBA Board created. It's a rule that comes down from the NYS Health Department. So, if you've already been on the beach a few hours, please consider making room for the new people arriving, and always be respectful of how difficult this unique summer is on our lifeguards.
Above all, APBA members are friends and family, and we were friends and family long before COVID. Help us keep the beach safe as well as be kind to your fellow members.
We'll survive navigating this new world if we all bring a beach tote full of patience!
Happy 4th!
Jeanne Veillette Bowerman
President APBA
With the forecasted beautiful weather for this holiday weekend, we anticipate high turn outs at APBA. Please remember to pack your patience as well as your mask, as we are still under the NYS Department of Health COVID rules to operate at 50% occupancy and maintain appropriate social distancing.
Just a quick reminder of the COVID rules: If you cannot maintain 6-feet distance from other members, you are required to wear a mask. If you are able to spread out and keep a safe social distance, you may remove your mask. But please keep it handy, as you may need to put it back on to walk about or if someone comes over to say hi. Children under 2 do not need to wear masks, and masks are not to be worn in the water.
Our guards will be under added stress with the holiday weekend as their #1 job is to watch for your safety while swimming in the water, so we ask all members to be kind and cooperative should the guards need to close down the beach once we reach that 50% capacity mark. We know you all want to enjoy the lake this holiday, but the safety of all of our members and staff is paramount.
The Queechy Lake Club's Annual Boat Parade will be on Saturday, July 4th at 2pm. However, registration will take place online, and the awards ceremony will not be at APBA. If you are at the beach, you'll be able to see the boats float by. If you would rather not attend the beach on what we anticipate will be our busiest day of the summer, you can view the boat parade from Queechy Lake Drive (County Route 30). For more information on the Boat Parade, please visit the QLC site.
If you forget to pack a lunch, don't worry! "Dawgz" hot dog cart will be in our parking lot and have hot dogs, chips, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and water available. Enjoy!
No matter what you're doing this holiday weekend, even if it's staying home to avoid the crowds, or social distancing at Queechy, remember to stay safe and be considerate of others.
Happy Independence Day!
Dear friends, neighbors and APBA members,
The APBA Board is thrilled to announce we will open the beach for the season on Saturday, June 13th! We could not have accomplished what seemed like the impossible without your support.
Not only have we welcomed 13 new members to our APBA family, 45% of our 2020 membership donated funds above and beyond their membership dues, totaling $4,985 to date -- the largest amount of donations APBA has ever received in a given year. Your generosity speaks volumes as to how important our little, nonprofit beach is to the quality of your family’s summer life.
Every single dollar is needed, especially this year, as we’ll still be operating at approximately an $8,000 loss. Again, we thank you.
All of our members will be asked to read, sign and bring an APBA COVID Waiver to the beach when they come to pick up their beach passes. You can find the waiver here.
In short, the waiver will have a list of all the COVID rules required by the Department of Health. However, the most important rule is not listed -- Please bring your patience and compassion every time you come to APBA. We’re a community, trying to enjoy our summers but also promising each other to behave in a manner that keeps everyone as safe as possible. We must all take our personal responsibility seriously.
The COVID waiver rules are as follows:
1. You, members of your household and/or your guests will not come to the Beach if you know or suspect you/they have any symptoms of COVID-19 (eg., fever, cough, loss of smell, etc.)
2. You, members of your household and/or your guests must social distance at least 6 feet apart on the sand, in the water and on the walk from the parking lot to the Beach.
3. If you, members of your household and/or your guests can not or will not social distance at least 6 feet from other patrons or staff, you and all patrons in your company over the age of 2 must bring a mask or face covering to the Beach and must wear it over mouth and nose) The only exception to this rule is that masks must NOT be worn while in the water.
4. The beach will function at 50% occupancy for as long as required by New York State and local authorities. Should we reach 50% capacity you may be asked to volunteer to leave the Beach to allow other patrons to enter and enjoy the Beach.
5. No “contact sports” will be allowed on the Beach, for example, football, volleyball, wiffle ball, paddle ball, etc. Beach toys will not be shared.
6. No groups larger than 10 are allowed.
7. When you leave the Beach you must take everything you came with, including your trash. Nothing may be left behind.
8. If you intend to or have used a picnic table, you will ask one of the APBA staff to disinfect the table.
9. Adults assume full responsibility that minors in their company will follow these rules.
As for what 50% occupancy means, we cannot quantify that as a specific number. Our official maximum capacity is 295. Half that number is still a lot of people (a number we have probably have never reached, even on our busiest days), therefore, we are operating more by available space on the beach. For example, a group of six family members can be in a smaller area than three, individual couples who will need to spread out at least 6 feet from other members. Six people could take up a small space or a large space, depending on if they have been quarantining together.
The beach will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. To manage the 50% rule on busy days, the lifeguards will be asking members who have been at the beach for several hours already to voluntarily depart the beach when other members arrive later in the day. However, people will not be forced to leave. New arrivals will have to wait until the beach clears out a bit. This is where that most important rule comes in -- Please bring your patience and compassion every time you come to APBA. If someone sits down within 6 feet of you, or comes to your beach area to say hello to you, please be prepared to politely put on a mask or face covering.
In order for APBA to have a safe summer, we need everyone to cooperate. The reality is, the 50% rule will most likely not last the entire summer, as NYS just announced we’re moving into Phase 3. As of this writing, we have not heard from the Health Department if Phase 3 automatically changes our 50% capacity rule, so we are opening with the current plan.
If you have still not signed up as a member for 2020, please consider doing so. You can find the membership information on our website under the “Join” tab.
We look forward to seeing all of you this summer and thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us open APBA for our 41st season!
Be well!
Jeanne Veillette Bowerman
President APBA
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We’re thrilled to share an update on the status of our membership drive. As you know, in order to stay financially solvent, we need to obtain at least 150 memberships (or $30,000) to open for the 2020 season. To put that number in perspective, we normally have about 195 memberships.
As of today, here’s where we stand:
111 Members
$21,380 membership
$3,365 Donations
$24,745 Total
Of our 111 current members, we want to welcome the 13 families who have joined APBA for the first time! Please keep spreading the word as we only need 39 more Canaan and New Lebanon residents to join our lake community and be able to officially open the beach for the season!
We also want to thank the members who responded to our survey a few weeks ago. 90% of respondents stated a strong desire to have social distancing guidelines. We’ve created a solid Site Safety Plan that was approved by our local Health Department.
Here’s an example of some of the NYS and local Health Department authorities’ required procedures:
Masks must be worn by all patrons over 2 years of age, if you cannot maintain a 6-ft distance (masks are not to be worn in the water)
Social distancing of towel placement on the sand
Agree to only come to the beach if you are healthy and those in your party are healthy
Must take your own trash and PPE off premises
Guards will have disinfectant and hand sanitizer on the premises
Possessions brought with you must leave with you
No sharing of beach toys, etc.
Those are all reasonable rules we can live by to keep each other safe and still have fun in the sun.
If any of you would like to donate disposable masks to APBA so we can keep them on the premises in case anyone forgets a mask, we would greatly appreciate it.
On behalf of our APBA Board, thank you to all who have supported APBA over the last 40 years. Every one of you is like family, which is exactly why we are doing all we can to not only open the beach, but to keep you safe. Please keep spreading the word and be well!
Membership forms can be found on our site here.
Jeanne Veillette Bowerman
President APBA
We received word from the Columbia County Department of Health that we will be allowed to open the beach at 50% capacity!
To put it in perspective, we normally have between 195 and 200 memberships. Even on our busiest days, the beach has never hit the Health Department's maximum capacity. The 50% capacity will mostly be an issue on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekdays have traditionally always been quiet. Regardless, we will come up with an appropriate plan for managing occupancy.
Before we all get excited about opening though, remember, we cannot open Memorial Day weekend because we also need to hit the 150 membership mark for financial sustainability.
If we cannot hit that number, we'll have a devastating loss, jeopardizing our ability to exist as a viable entity.
As of today, we have 39 regular memberships and 1 Inn membership (thank you to those who responded this week!), so we still have a ways to go.
In dollars, the 150 membership goal translates to about $30,000. The bulk represents wages for lifeguards (approximately $23,000) plus insurance costs. We have no fat in our budget whatsoever, so this is the ideal minimum goal we need to operate.
Here's a breakdown of where we stand today (Friday, 5/22):
39 Regular Memberships
1 Inn
$7485 Collected in Memberships (average $187)
$800 Donations
$8285 Total
The sooner we hit our goal, the sooner we can open the beach! But money is not our only concern...
We're also dedicated to keeping you safe, so we are creating new safety protocol based on NYS and Columbia County Department of Health recommendations as well as feedback from our membership survey. Thank you all who took the time to take the survey! Your thoughts greatly inform our discussions.
Tomorrow at 9AM (Saturday) we'll be putting in the ropes. The next steps are getting the beach inspected by the Health Department, as well as creating a new safety plan, outlining social distancing and other guidelines for the members and staff to follow. We'll do all we can to create safe guidelines!
While the guidelines may change, at a minimum they will include:
Face masks/covers must be worn in areas where social distancing is not possible (ie., where staying 6 feet apart is not possible).
Face masks/covers will not be required if you are swimming in the lake but you are expected to maintain a 6-feet distance from other patrons in the water.
No groups larger than 10 are allowed.
Note: Families who have been quarantining together may sit closer than the 6-foot distance on the beach as well as be closer in the water.
In addition, the Beach staff will have hand sanitizer available.
We're dedicated to reach our membership drive goals so that we are able to open Adams Point Beach for the 41st summer! Please help our Queechy community by either joining and/or consider making a donation.
If you have friends in Canaan or New Lebanon, they can become a member! Please share this information with them. The applications and instructions are on our site here: https://www.adamspointbeach.org/join/membership-info
Just print, fill out, sign the application and waiver, and mail a check to APBA:

Please spread the word!

President APBA
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As we embark on our 41st season at APBA, we await news from state and local authorities about when Adams Point Beach will be allowed to reopen. Unfortunately, based on the guidance we’ve received to date, it is highly unlikely that beaches will get the “green light” to open Memorial Day Weekend as originally planned. While Governor Cuomo is allowing state-run beaches to open at 50% capacity, that does not apply to private beaches. APBA must adhere to the County Health Department guidelines, of which there are none at the time of this writing.
However, safety guidelines are not our only concern. The financial stability of APBA will also be impacted by this pandemic. Regardless of when we are allowed to open, we need 150 members to join in order to operate. If we do not reach that goal, we will be unable to open for the 2020 season.
The APBA Board is meeting weekly to discuss and plan for a range of scenarios from delayed “normal” opening, to opening with restrictions, to no opening at all for the 2020 season.
In the meantime, to be as prepared as possible, we’re continuing with our annual seasonal water testing and Columbia County Health Department applications, as well as keeping our lifeguard staff up to date. For the time being, we are delaying our usual beach cleanup day, which includes things like putting the dock and swim-lane ropes in the lake. We are intentionally not doing this now for safety reasons - we do not want to encourage trespassing on private property and swimming without lifeguards on duty.
In determining whether we can open or not, we must consider the following:
The Columbia County Health Department approval to open.
The health and safety of our membership.
The health and safety of our staff.
The financial health of Adams Point Beach Association.
For practical reasons, we’d like to learn more about our members’ comfort level on reopening and also solicit your ideas. We’d greatly appreciate it if you could fill out our extremely brief survey (5 questions) to help us gather data and aid in our decisions.
Please only fill out the survey once.
Regardless of the size of our membership, we incur fixed operating expenses of approximately $8,000 (mostly insurance-related). That means that even if we are not allowed to open, your Beach will take a financial hit. While no one wants to operate at a significant loss, that is precisely the purpose of our rainy-day fund. Luckily, our membership and Board worked hard the last several years to build up that reserve for just such a case. As always, we will continue to pursue all avenues to replenish that fund, once this crisis is over.
Last summer, the Beach’s main source of financial support was from 185 memberships. This year, we’re anticipating a decline in memberships due to COVID-19. The critical number this year is 150 memberships at our standard rates. At that level, we would still suffer a financial loss, but we would at least be able to open with lifeguards without completely draining our bank accounts.
However, if we fall below 150 members at standard rates, opening the beach would be financially unsustainable, as we could lose as much as $20,000.
As of today, we only have 13 regular memberships and 1 membership from an Inn. Your membership fee this year is critical and the sooner it is received the more you help your fellow members and our planning.
We’ll need to do an aggressive membership campaign in order to open this year. Please spread the word to any of your friends in the Canaan and New Lebanon areas and send them to the APBA website for information or forward this email.
Here’s the wrinkle. The Board has completed a deep financial analysis, which shows that if we open later than Memorial Day weekend we will not be able to offer prorated refunds on memberships and still stay afloat, financially. For example, if our opening is delayed until July 1st, we still must charge the same membership fee. It’s important to point out that the beach is typically only open a total of 15 days prior to July 1st. So, if we cannot open until July 1st, you’ll still have 69 days to enjoy Queechy!
So, if you choose to sign up for a membership, please understand our limitations in not being able to refund a portion of your membership.
Of course if we cannot open at all, your membership dues will be refunded in full.
AN IMPORTANT REMINDER: If we are not able to open, the beach will be 100% closed to swimming, as it’s on private property with no lifeguards. Signage will be posted and the entrance roped off.
We sincerely hope you understand what our community faces and choose to continue to support APBA so we can continue to stay open for another 41 years!
The 2020 membership forms are available on the Adams Point Beach website as well as listed here:

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe during these uncertain times. Normally, this letter would be welcoming you to a new season at Adams Point Beach, but as is necessary for everyone’s health, we are following the Department of Health guidelines for social distancing and public gatherings and are preparing for the possibility the Beach may be delayed in opening until health restrictions are officially lifted. However, we are hopeful our beach season will begin this Summer, allowing a celebration of our community and love of Queechy.
In the meantime, we want to update you on what the APBA Board has been doing since we closed last Labor Day:
Visit our newly designed APBA website for links to important information and updates. Check it out and let us know what you think!
We now have APBA social media accounts to share news and announcements, such as beach closings due to inclement weather. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
We have a “new” row boat! After much searching, we found a great used aluminum row boat for the Town of Canaan Recreation Program’s swim lessons that should last for years to come.
With the help of our Head Guard, Olivia Bullock, the Board has a new Lifeguard Handbook, which includes the rules and regulations for the lifeguards and members. The Handbook was created to facilitate clarity and consistency in our staff and member protocols.
We’ve created a New Fundraising and Social Activities Committee! We hoped to bring new social activities for our members prior to opening, and we are still hopeful to be able to do so later in the season. If you’d like to join the committee, please email us at adamspointbeach@gmail.com
While APBA has been a non-profit organization in the past, we are not an official 501(c)3… yet. We began the process of applying for the official status and will keep you posted when we succeed. Once approved, the 501(c)3 designation will enable us to apply for grants and donors to make tax-deductible contributions.
We are keeping a close eye on the calendar and will remain flexible in response to the shifting landscape. With this letter we are officially launching our 2020 Membership Drive. If after you join, the Health Department or other state/local government authorities determine that social distancing must continue into the summer months, the Board will either fully refund or prorate your membership fees based on if and when we open.
Also, for “early birds,” in past years we offered a $10 discount if you joined by May 1st. This year, because of the uncertainty of when we will officially open the Beach, we’re extending that discount date to June 1st.
The 2020 membership forms are now available on the Adams Point Beach website as well as listed here:
Please note that in an effort to streamline the process this year, we will be using signed, approved copies of the membership forms as proof of membership instead of creating individual, laminated passes. The approved copy of your membership application will be placed in a protective sleeve and available for pickup at the beach from the lifeguards.
1. We’re asking members to consider making a donation to APBA to offset our fixed costs, should the beach not be able to open. The reality is, our insurance policies must be paid in full in May prior to opening. The cost this year will be approximately $6K of our $8K fixed costs. If we must remain closed and have to return people’s membership fees, we’ll lose a bulk of the “rainy-day fund” that we’ve all worked hard to build up over the last two years. Obviously, the COVID pandemic is a “rainy day” type issue, but in these unprecedented times, we need to be as proactive as possible in preserving APBA’s future.
2. Many of our friends and neighbors have fallen under hard financial times and might struggle to purchase a membership this year. In order to support the members who have supported us for so many years, the Board is setting up a new fund for financial aid for memberships. If there was ever a year to help your fellow neighbor, this is it.
If you are so inclined, please mail your donations to the following address:
Adams Point Beach Association
PO Box 154
Canaan, NY 12029
If all goes well, the beach cleanup day will be Saturday, May 16th at 10AM. We’ll update you via email and social media to confirm this date or share a new date.
Please stay tuned to our website, Facebook and Instagram for updates, and above all, maintain social distancing, self-quarantining, and be safe! If we all limit our activities, the sooner this will end and the sooner we can enjoy the lake this summer! In the meantime, should you have any questions, comments or suggestions, do not hesitate to reach out at adamspointbeach@gmail.com
Be well,

Dear Members,
The beach is tucked away for the winter, despite this gorgeous, sunny day! As we look back at this past season, we wanted to thank you all for your continued support of Adams Point Beach.
The survey you filled out last Spring greatly helped us improve the safety and quality of the beach this season:
New ropes and buoys
Removal of the dying shade tree
Planting two new shade trees
Expanding the beach area
Snack bar (managed by our Head Guard, Olivia)
To help us continue improving your beach experience, we’d appreciate it if you’d complete our new end-of-season survey. As before, one lucky winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card for completing the survey!
We continue to improve our financial circumstances, taking steps toward our long-term goal of achieving a year’s worth of operating expenses as a cushion, and ended this year with a surplus.
However, money is not the only thing needed to keep our favorite beach alive. We need volunteers! Understanding that serving on a board may be an overwhelming thought, this year, we want to add committees, involving community members, to lighten the load for all!
Please consider serving on one of the following committees. If you have a specialty or an infinity for any of the following, we’d love to have you as part of our larger team!
Fundraising
Communications: social media, marketing, mailings, website
Social Activities
Beach Operations: opening, closing, maintenance
Finance: 501c3
Membership Outreach
If you would like to volunteer, please email us at adamspointbeach@gmail.com
We are also looking to have a formal maintenance person to do occasional weed-wacking, removal of trash, etc., all in exchange for a season pass for 2020!
Finally, a generous member offered to donate some hostas for planting around the two new trees. If you were that person, please let us know, and we’ll make arrangements to get them planted in the Spring!
In closing, on behalf of the entire board, we hope to hear from you via our new survey to make your experience next year even better!
With Gratitude,
Jeanne Veillette Bowerman
APBA President
