And he left his house, and the land of his inheritance, and his gold, and his silver, and his precious things, and took nothing with him, save it were his family, and provisions, and tents, and departed into the wilderness." (1 Nephi 2: 4)
There are a number of things wards will need to take care of before coming to camp:
- Hosting a ward fundraiser for your Young Women (if your ward traditionally does this). If needed, we can put you in contact with other wards who have hosted fun nights in the past.
- Make sure your girls are registered by May 31.
- Collecting moneys and paperwork by the deadline (May 31). We promise we WILL be hounding you about this ;-)
- Have a skit ready to go with your Young Women (remember our theme: Go and DO!)
- Arrange for transportation for your girls to and from camp (4th years arrive on Monday, everyone else arrives Tuesday)
- Organizing fun and/or spiritual "ward time" for each evening. Think about having secret sisters, or a ward mailbox where the young women could leave little notes or gifts for each other. You could also talk about what everyone learned that day. You'll have an hour to an hour and a half each night. Be creative!
- Providing desserts and an activity for "bishop's night" (Thursday, July 9). Work with your bishop and see what he would like to do (be sure and give him plenty of warning about when this night is: JULY 9!)
- Coming to camp and being willing to help. We need you there! We want you there!
Each ward should have at least two adult leaders there at all times. These could be members of your Young Women presidency, your ward camp director or assistant director, or even parents. Please keep a watchful eye on all the girls, and participate in the activites. We promise they will be wonderful!

1. Calculate Total Cost: This year camp is $125 per person. This includes young women, and ward leaders who are primarily there to chaperone the girls. If an adult from your ward is going to camp because they were given an assignment from stake leaders, you do not need to pay for them. If an individual is only attending part of the week, it is $25 per day.
2. Speak with your ward clerk by May 10 in order to have the payment in by May 31. He will need to provide you an actual check made out to the Ann Arbor Michigan Stake. If he says he needs some sort of invoice for his records, Hope Woolley can send him an email of the total cost for your ward. The ward clerk is NOT to make an electronic transfer, it has to be an actual check, absolutely no exceptions. This part cannot be done until you have all the funds gathered from the young women (or their parents), or if you have the money from a fundraiser deposited into your ward young women's account.
3. Submit the Check: Please mail the check to our Stake Financial Clerk, Brother Tom Crowley at 6290 Wilson Rd., Ann Arbor, Michigan 48108.
4. Email Hope Woolley: Please email Hope Woolley after you have submitted the check. Let her know the check amount and the number of young women and leaders that will be attending. This is to ensure the accounting and girls camp registration is correct on the stake level.

Besides bringing the items listed for the YW (click on the heading "what to bring"), here are some other ideas that can be helpful:
- a personal day pack
- a Sharpie for writing names on personal items
- pillow treats/notes for girls in your ward
- camp chairs for ward time
- phone numbers of parents
- things for your girls to do during ward time
- flashlight
- tarps or other rain gear to cover wet benches and wet grass and wet chairs and anything that CAN get wet!
