the M.O. (modus operandi) of these times is to make us feel crazy.
yes, symbolism will be appropriated and re-appropriated. and things will be said without saying them. and many people will hide their intentions in the shadows cast by distractions. yes, we will be pitted against each other to pick upon each other's petty differences, and inter-cultural wars will be waged by those who know how to inflame and engender schisms. the question is, will you allow yourself to be polarized and choose a side, following the bait into a trap? or will you be whole unto your self, knowing *your* truth, keeping your eyes and ears open to the lies, spreading like spoken wildfire? the secret is, there is plenty of time to douse those flames if we act swiftly and purposefully to uncover their origins & unlike a force of nature, the cause of this blaze is human made. but while we stand around petrified, paralyzed, distracted, confused, and divided, it buys time for the flames to consume our lives.
remember that fire is put out with water, not fire: teardrops.
earth, also: grounding. like in electricity.
fire feeds on oxygen. air. and yet, in so doing... an uncontained flame suffocates our minds, starves us of our breath, and the inspiration of life.
the notion is this: you may have to question your instincts in a time of war.
and yet... questioning your instincts is precisely the effect desired by an agent provocateur. they know that you will try to fight fire with fire, because fire-power, like gunpowder, makes you feel strong. we tend to play to our strengths. and this is wise, yet wisdom also says... all strength is contextual.
do not abandon your fire, for they would "love" to see you without passion. just as they hunger to see the village go up in a holocaust of flames. but recognize the circumstances encircling you...your internal and external environments, interwoven, enshrouding you, by coercing your own demons into being a force indeed more fearful than your perceived enemies.
the fire within your heart is your hearth... may it never leave you parched and barren, charred and ashen... but if it does, it is time for you to be reborn, as the phoenix arises...
(we need all four elements in balance, with the fifth element and the sixth sense, by virtue of the seventh dimension as perceived by all 7 chakras... but i digress.)
you see... this symbolism is designed with a dual purpose: to be detectable and undetectable simultaneously. it has been appropriated to co-opt its original "good luck" vibration, much like the swastika was, not long ago. and it hides behind an aura of "harmlessness."
if you are looking for easy answers, i question whether it is the truth that you are seeking?
additional thoughts...
the "fire" metaphor here could also apply to any other element which is out of balance... specifically i feel that our passions being inflamed is a very "hot topic" in terms of how social strife is manipulated, hot-headed anger, burning resentments, irritability, etc. even in terms of physical health... "inflammation" is among our most prescient concerns for well-being...
but, sunken watery depression, for example, could have equally filled pages & pages of gloom and obsession... the grave gravity of earthy stubbornness and stagnation... or head in the clouds airy idealizing, and mental programs of manipulation. now that i've suitably offended everybody who may or may not identify, these metaphors can be blended (as needed for the pain)...
for example, water conducts electricity. emotions are manipulated with words. yet words are subject to interpretation (receptivity), and also take the form of sound and music. physical violence cannot occur without esoteric reasonings of cause + effect. the sun is a fire who, along with water and nourishing soil, gives life to all that is green, growing up into the air, dispersing seeds into the wind...to replenish the cycle all over again. the moon is a planetary body (earth satellite) which moves oceans, turning the tides...amongst many other occult secrets, not the least of which when she occults the sun, and vice versa, at the nodal points of an eclipse.
it is said that "fire" is an "event" & not a "thing." that is because in order for fire to occur, 3 things are needed: oxygen, heat, and fuel. do we blame the fire, or the person who set the fire? or is it the timing in which the fire erupts, which is to blame? better yet, what purpose does this blame serve? fire keeps us warm...yet fire destroys the path by which it is fed.
the witch hunt, as a crime of passion: burned at the stake, or was it drowned? beheaded, buried, stabbed, punctured, penetrated.
there is a toxicology to everything, as well as a healthy ecology. temper(a)mental, if you will, if you wish. the choice is ours, as alchemists, how we blend with the in*formation formulated to influence our chemistry of belief...
