Title1: Regenerative Stochastic sequences and processes and applications to Monte Carlo procedures
Title1: Regenerative Stochastic sequences and processes and applications to Monte Carlo procedures
Abstract: In this talk, two topics will be covered. One of them will introduce the concept of regenerative sequences and processes of random variables and illustrate them with applications to Monte Carlo procedures for estimating integrals and sums with respect to infinite measures. This will be a research topic.

Title2: Polynomial formula for sums of powers of integers
Title2: Polynomial formula for sums of powers of integers
Abstract: This will be at the undergraduate level and is based on a paper in Resonance. It gives an explicit formula for sums of powers of integers generalizing the cases of k = 1, 2, 3 that one works out in high school.
